Wonder if another base will shrink in order to feed Miami? Going to have to pull the aircraft and crews from somewhere.

We’re not even operating at peak performance (daily utilization). Didn’t we used to do about 13 hours a day per aircraft??? Last I saw was way less than that....

5 aircraft this quarter, 5 3rd QTR, and 4 in the 4th.
21 aircraft in 2022
27 in 2023

Quarterly reports.

And all this time we all thought the co-base language in the contract was for ACY...lol

International travel may be a bit slower coming back than I thought.

hopefully Biden will let the mask mandate expire in September.

Atlantic City has got its first international destination and more flying!I don’t think Atlantic City is going away anytime soon as a base.

I dont see any reason they would want to close ACY. Spirit basically controls that airport, gives us more NE exposure, and its a great way to connect that part of the region to latin/Central America. Nice to see the new flying into ACY

exactly, we have a monopoly on ACY, and they are top cheap to close a base

Frontier is serving more cities out of DFW than Spirit is. That is a problem.

We're too busy with beards, banjos, and council groups to worry about growing DFW.

does flying somewhere once a week really count as serving that city?

I believe the ‘Deadliest Catch’ boys referred to that as a “prospect pot”.

When they add routes, isn't it kind of like we added them as well?

dude that’s what I’m thinking!

MainlineorSuici 07-21-2021 10:36 AM

AA has made it clear to DFW that they don’t want spirit to get any more gates. Give us gate there (or anywhere) and we can grow. LAX could immediately double its departures per day if we had the gate space

Halon1211 07-28-2021 01:11 PM

For those that care.

looks like Spirit is expecting 13 deliveries of the A321NEO’s in 2023.

It says the config is TBD, I wonder with what variant Spirit will go with.

A fairly senior FA told me they’re switching the cabin layout similar to what JetBlue has with exit rows, and will be able to squeeze in more seats….

it will also be interesting to see if with go with the LR, XLR, or just stick with the plain Jane regular version.

dualinput 07-28-2021 01:35 PM

When did this change?

Did they swap 319/320 for 321 or is this 13 additional planes. I didn’t think we hand any more 321s coming

when Spirit placed “the big order” a year and a half ago for 100 new Airbuses. It included a mix of A319NEO’s, A320NEO’s and A321NEO’s. So yes, this isn’t new. But what is new is a better picture of when the deliveries will be as far as the A321NEO’s are concerned.

MainlineorSuici 07-28-2021 02:57 PM

If I recall correctly from recent employee calls:

They like the 321Neo and want it, citing “good economics”. They said, however, that it’ll be “quite a while” before they can get their hands on them.

Also said not likely to order LR/XLR because “our seating config is quite dense” and apparently they couldn’t even carry the extra gas with such a heavy cabin config. Just what I heard on the call.

also. Frontier just dropped 17 new routes out of MCO today. Ouch

FNGFO 07-28-2021 03:01 PM

Jeff Miller said thy were taking a hard look at the Leap engines going forward since the two lines of planes going to get Wifi installed had to be halved to deal with some new issue with the Pratt’s.

They may just be trying to beat P/W down on price, but it’s something to think about.

Frontier just switched their order from all Leaps to Pratt’s on their future deliveries citing unreasonable maintenance. I doubt this has any truth to it. But who knows this is spirit. The leaps may be $5 cheaper.

the majority of these new routes are 1 or 2 times a week. Lol basically no service. Also a lot of those routes are to smaller cities.

Sweet. Another set of limitations for engines.

And the A319 NEO’s too. We will have 7 different engine limitations to know.

...and landing weights.

3 temps, some cranking limitations, and an oil pressure or starting temp or two. Could be worse.
