As most of us remember, Spirit is the airline that not long ago, removed half of the overhead ceiling lights in their HQ to save on electricity costs and bragged about not having a receptionist at the front door, simply an empty desk.
Well, my poorly stated point was that all airline management is cut from the same cloth. All they care about is the bottom line. And pilots are just widgets, no different than any other cost to the airline.

We can cheerlead for our management when their goals align with ours, but we must always remember that management will always try to lowball us on our wages/compensation. Just like managements want a certain amount of overbooking and view paying off bumped passengers as part of their attempt to maximize profits, they also welcome a certain amount of pilot attrition in order to minimize overall pilot costs. It will raise training costs, but is more than offset by savings on the overall contract.

and garbage men and janitors should make $200,000/year but that’s just not how it works. You get paid off your skill level not how “hard” you work.

Anyways, the more senior the FA the more lazy and care-fee they are. If you ask me, their pay scale should go down as they get more senior...force those old hags out...

I'm sure they would say the same thing about pilots!

If you are a passenger in the back wouldn’t you want a more senior experienced pilot and a younger FA that actually cares about doing his or her job.

seems like the newer FA actually care about taking care of customers and the old one gives you attitude or goes on a power trip...just saying.

I would like a flight attendant that is competent and qualified, does their job, and is paid a livable wage. Same as with the pilot, the mechanic, the ramp agent, the gate agent, the dispatcher, the air traffic controller and the guy plowing the runway.

nice “straw man” argument!

I never said flight attendants or dispatcher or mechanic or anyone shouldn’t be paid a livable wage.
