Back in the 60s I believe it was the most senior domicile UA had. But after absorbing Northwest, Delta sort of ran them out. A lot of very senior people found themselves commuting to SFO.

There are no guaranteed safe bases. In the course of a career, becoming a commuter sometime is damn near inevitable.
LOL, maybe if they'd fenced the DC-3 in the latest TA it wouldn't have come to that....

BOS is going to get an Airbus base in the near future.

PHX is stagnant but not going away

It already has one, it's called jetblue and the NEA.

AA can sell millions of tickets a year to BOS on the airbus without operating a flight. Why would they?

ohh wait
we are not talking about small bases here… we are talking about massive hubs.

AA is never getting rid of DFW!

Delta is never getting rid of ATL!

Spirit/JetBlue is never getting rid of FLL! (Florida is their bread and butter)

let’s not be so obtuse

So they bought those for their tiny Boston base, not ORD, JFK, CLT, PHL, MIA and DFW/ PHX to Hawaii?

I’m sure we’ll see them at several bases, but I’m willing to bet BOS has a good chunk of the XLR flying.

The XLR’s are planned for Europe use. They’re not a 757 so you can probably bet the NE bases will get most of them. The NX’s can do the other missions temperature permitting.
