Attrition

"A Chief Pilot may discuss patterns of commuting problems with the
Pilot in an effort to resolve such issues by identifying the source of the problem
and assisting in developing alternative commuting strategies. Repeated
mis-commutes may be considered in evaluations of a commuting Pilot’s
overall dependability."
vs
"A pilot who keeps accurate records of his scheduled commuter flights and otherwise complies with the provisions of this commuter policy shall not be subject to discipline for missing trip pairings due to denied boarding."
Maybe they don't, but they can....
And that is before we start taking all the other requirements into account. Your contract could be better than ours on the whole, but there are things undeniably better in our contract.
Having said that, with the way our union is handling things, I would probably prefer the JB NC to present the JCBA to managment.

After the dust settles approximately 48-72 hours after DOT opened, the remaining trips are the crappy ones.
Y’all need to stop pretending like we haven’t discussed this before.

Your name-calling aside, if you don't want to be looked at or treated like K-Mart/Applebees/dollar store level pilots, don't have Applebees specifically mentioned as an acceptable layover dining option.
Quite honestly it's embarrassing, and I'm certain United/Delta/etc would fire their entire NC if they dared disrepsect their profession by including such a "restaurant" (using that term loosely) in the hotel standards. It has less to do with Applebees itself rather than the general level you see yourselves and how the company views you. That is precisely seeing the forest for the trees. Please leave your ULCC mindset behind if the court allows this acquisition.

Of all the things to complain about with spirit our hotel language is a funny one. Yes it needs improving but taking an Escalade to a downtown Marriott isn’t so bad?

doesn’t B6 pay more for health insurance premiums? Can B6 pilots pick up trips out of base? What does B6 pilots contract say about cleaning the planes in between turns? Can a B6 pilots get disciplined for using the commuter clause?
please tell me more about this pamphlet…

Personally when I'm commuting I put minimal effort in to satisfy our commuter clause and and forunately haven't had any issues. After talking with several CPs I can't imagine them actually making a big deal out of missed commutes as long as you put in minimal effort and meet commuter cluase to get to work on time.
All that said, I think the "dependability review" is BS and should be removed from the FOM once we combine everything.

Is attrition to the legacies still pretty steady on the NK side? If merger isn't approved will many make the jump from NK? At JB I've talked to a few that are leaning to leave if it falls through (myself included).

This entire summer I dropped my entire schedule in my base and picked up trips in several other domiciles around the country as we traveled as a family. It was really nice. During this time I also grabbed some 200% out of other bases as well as spirit served cities that are not bases.
I live in base and we have has some of the issues you speak of when it comes to the negatives of out of base pickup. It’s probably still happening to some extent in DFW, ORD, and DTW as those bases were downsized and folks were displaced. In my time at spirit there was even a push by one base to get the rules changed. The demographics changed over time and it became less of an issue.
IMO the positives of out of base pickup greatly outweighs the negatives.
