The judges ruling on the Clayton Act will still stand in CH11 so unless the DOJ decides to look the other way what your implying won't happen.

Now in CH7 liquidation like Pan am / Eastern we have no fragmentation language to go with the metal and even if we did we don't own the Aircraft. We can't negotiate our jobs with a leasing company. I know we own a couple but my guess by the time we get to this point we will have leveraged them all.

Tell me about it!

About a 10 year shift in senority for pilots. CA shoved to the right seat except for the most senior.

FA all got stapled and then every last one got furloughed.

I honestly don’t think spirit will go Ch.7 even without a merger.

while it is true, CEO’s lie all the time, this time TC was under oath in the Boston courtroom. He has a 5 or $6 million gold parachute and to get this merger through. He wants this merger as well as all the C-Suites to go through.

when you pressed under oath. TC said the company has a plan back to profitability. He could’ve very well said our company was BK without a merger and that we our golden ticket to winning the judge over. but he could not say that. The judge even said that he would’ve considered the company’s financial state, but he could not because the company would be fine without the merger.

I do think that once we get the Pratt & Whitney issue fixed and without a Jetblue merger, we will be fine on own. Not killing it, but just enough to survive.

(In a Shark Tank, Kevin O’Leary voice) and for that reason, I’m out!

My post was in reference to us being in a similar position to Eastern/Pan am as far as pilots being absorbed. I wasn't suggesting they will go CH7 even though I absolutely think it's a possibility and I completely agree with Helene Beckers assessment. This NEO problem could potentially drag on all the way to 2030. If you think for a second Spirit can hang on that long your insane. This place is 100% going CH11 minimum. Good luck

well, I don’t need the “luck” because I’m bailing too. but it’s not because I think we are going ch7

don’t get me wrong the ruling was complete BS and I don’t believe Justice was done and the heavens did fall.

“let justice be done even though the heavens fall”

Agreed, the major players in the game would have exponentially more lobbying power than B6 if any of them were to go down the M&A road. And it's not even close.

Exactly. I'm still not entirely convinced they weren't the reason the merger failed to begin with.

B6 could not divest enough to satisfy the DOJ’s market concentration complaint since it ultimately was going to get rid of the product and its pricing mix altogether. The main sticking point of the whole thing. The BIGGER bullet point.

It’s sad that the average flyer and the gov love how much a disrupter Spirit is but can’t acknowledge that it needs help. Frontier made a ton more sense.

Maybe F9 makes some kind of attempt after the JB Deal is officially dead, even if it’s a half ass*d, low ball attempt

I’m not surprised at all considering how insufferable Biden is….
