Everyone keeps talking about all this QoL stuff, but I think everyone is missing the big picture here.

1) Does Frontier get to wear a shell jacket instead of a leather coat?

2) How long should we stall JCBA so that we can have facial hair?

We (Frontier) have been in an epic standoff with Biffle over jackets for years now. The union asked to add a shell style jacket and he said only if we all wear hats.

I want that damn jacket.

As for facial hair, so long as you wear a mask I think you can rock about any facial hair you want

JulesWinfield 02-15-2022 05:48 AM

We want beards!

You should have accepted the deal and then wore headsets over the hats like WW2 bomber pilots.

Even in the terminal. Leads dangling.

No lie, we had a guy do that in the FBO’s at my last job because he didn’t like to talk to people.

Allegiant literally just got beards approved with a bunch of guidance on it. But still, they have beards now. Hopefully this sets a precedent

And the building is still being built. Still time left to make some changes. And I’m sure the building is spec’d for airline operations in terms of IT and configuration. And although Miramar is exactly on the coastline, I think operating through hurricanes is still a huge consideration. I would expect hurricane proof glass on the north and east facing windows, and a backup generator system to power through a week long power outage. If you put in some sleep rooms and showers you can keep the operation going through the storm.

Part of the OCC is already in Orlando for this reason.

That makes sense. Any idea if that is/was part of the permanent plan or were they going to consolidate operations into the new Miramar HQ?

They want two HQ’s so that a hurricane doesn’t blow up the OCC for a few days. It’s also part of why they were looking at Nashville.

Don't need two, you just need a good alternate. Many businesses have this (and government entities) along the coast. Doesn't have to be fancy, pick an inland base and rent out cheap office space in some strip mall or something. Just need to hire a tech guy or two to keep up the comm infrastructure until it is needed.

There’s other reasons too. Like extra office space and training facilities for a growing airline in what will likely be our biggest base. And it’s a fast train ride away from Miramar. And all of it was just sitting there from a previous airline instead of our needing to build it.

I’ll just leave this here and see if you see anything familiar. I myself just noticed it when I was browsing over JetSmart’s website.

P.S. JetSmart was inaugurated by Bill Franke only two years ago.

You would think that, but evidently there is an F9 FO that will call the Chief Pilot on you if you don’t shave off a goatee, even if it’s completely covered by the mask.

I’ll assume this is just sarcasm. If there is one good thing at F9 it’s our pilot group. We have a great bunch of people, and honestly I’ve not flown with a single person yet who isn’t looking forward to working with our NK peeps to make this place even better.

I understand nothing has been officially released but I thought that one of the press releases listed that "Spirit" would be the surviving brand. Yes, I understand that Frontier is listed as 51.5 majority.

Anyone have any insider knowledge?

The Spirit name may very well survive, but a lot of people have read into (or simply don’t understand) that filing. Indigo set up another holding company, “Top Gun”. In a nutshell there will be two mergers taking place. During the merger process Spirit will be merged with the Top Gun entity owned by Indigo. Indigo will then own both spirit and frontier. Both airlines will continue to operate independently during this time and Spirit will continue to operate under the name spirit (surviving brand) after it is merged with top gun. Ultimately Spirit/top gun will be merged with Frontier. What name will survive at that point is anyones guess. Who knows, it may be neither and we will rebrand under a completely new name. IMO it will be based on far more factors than just the fact that F9 will be 51.5%.

In short, spirit being the surviving brand when merged with top gun is referring to a step in the middle of the process. Not the final product.

Can anyone confirm that Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer will be on the board of directors for the Spirit/Top Gun merger?

That’s also just a giant rumor. Anthony Edwards, however, will be the chair.

Headquartered at Kansas City BBQ in downtown San Diego. We just need to find a workaround with these taxes down in California. Maybe start a new religion with Tom Cruise.

Im sure there will be a lot of testing and surveying going on in the next few months. Spirit is by far the better known brand, the question is how tarnished is the name

It’s definitely the better known. As for tarnished…? I don’t think it’s any worse off than Frontier. If I were a betting man, I would say it would be some iteration of the Frontier livery with the animals, but keeping the Spirit name. Basically like Continental did with UAL. Keep the Continental globe, but keep the UAL name.

I have absolutely no facts to back any of this up. It’s purely just a hunch on my part.

It’s okay...facts are irrelevant on APC.

We work off pure emotion, speculation and hyperbolic comments here. Facts mean nothing. 😂

i doubt that only because we have more painted airplanes therefore it would be cheaper to rebrand fewer airplanes.

Spirit has a dog 💩 reputation but we are very well known.

Sorry, I think I missed a sentence in there that would have correctly implied the answer. The answer is “Animals on the Tail.” JetSmart, Franke’s 2-year old airline, also has animals on the tails.

American bought into JetSmart summer 2021.
CHICAGO, July 29 (Reuters) - American Airlines (AAL.O) said on Thursday it is proposing acquiring a minority stake in budget carrier JetSMART in South America as part of a tie-up aimed at fueling growth in the region as demand recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.

There are *********s in every pilot group, thankfully they are few and far between. Likewise, NK guys are looking forward to work with the F9 guys.

Word is that the names Spirit and Frontier will die...they want a fresh start.

”Harmony Air Lines” (like how Delta does it) will be the new name.

it will be a Metallic soft pink color.
