Spoke to a MEC rep a few months ago and they said Spirit was going to do a reduction bid but decided to pull it at the last minute. The reduction was DFW and ORD with ORD being the BIG reduction. Number I was told was close to 200 positions in ORD and about 50 in DFW. The obviously pulled the reduction bid but here we are again. So that is the reason why my thinking is that way.
The pulled reduction bid isn’t really a big secret and s lot of guys have heard about it getting pulled.
We will all find out soon enough but this was the latest info from the last time a reduction was discussed a few months back.

Sooooooo….I have a class date early April and I live in Chicago. One of the main reasons I was excited to come to Spirit was the ORD base. Sounds like that’s not gonna happen. So do stay at my regional in base or get used to the commuter life? 🤷♂️

Too many changes right now at NK and it doesn't give me the warm fuzzies.

You’re likely going to take a little over two years to financially recover by going to Spirit. With the crazy hiring and bonuses being thrown out, it might be worth it to risk it at the regional for a couple of years. Definitely a tough spot.

Year 2 at Spirit I'd make more. I just upgraded so probably would make around 80k this year if I stayed. I'm just a bit uncomfortable right now with all that's changing at Spirit. Seems like to the company is changing some large parts of the operation and I'm not on board with any of them.
