You have a very weird and bizzare obsession with anything posted from my account. Post was a statement from the townhall which you obviously didn’t watch.

What’s the bet on how senior, or possibly junior, ATL will be for the FO side?

They are displacing to staff it, it will go junior and be our junior base for a while.

I had heard that we have something like 100 commuters that travel from the Atlanta area to other bases. This might clean out FLL and MCO a bit. MIA as well if it’s not a co-domicile. ATL will probably be the junior FO base for a while. It might provide opportunities for reserve CA’s to hold lines elsewhere. Or in ATL if I’m wrong.

At least I’m hoping so for those of us staring the reduction bid in the face.

On alpa website it shows about 50 commuting from the ATL. But I'm sure more claim FL residency.

104 pilots live within 200 miles of ATL according to the ALPA commuting tool, with 45 of them being in FLL.

I hope so. But if ORD and DFW are say heavy by 100 pilots each, even IF pilots from FLL and MCO want ATL, and take the positions, that only means the displacements from ORD and DFW will backfill those in FLL and MCO, it’s not like pilots get to stay in DFW and ORD if there are takers in MCO and FLL.

The company knows how many positions they want for the new bases and that will have to be met with a reduction in base positions to get that number. And the fact we aren’t upgrading hardly any, it’s not like we can do what we did with MCO and grow it slow using new upgrades and new hires to fill it.

You misunderstand. I’m aware that low seniority crewmembers will be forced to transfer bases. There is now a chance that some of those crewmembers will hold a line in their new bases, and then can play the drop add game to effectively be based where they actually live, or at worst commute to a definitive schedule versus reserve.

Not a likely proposition 3 months ago with the open time situation, but I also think we’ll be understaffed based on attrition heading into the summer and that more trips will be there for pickup because of it.

Got ya, yeah, let’s hope any displaced pilots can not get hosed totally, “hope”.

Yeah I’m looking forward to getting displaced so I can now commute to reserve and stare at open time from a Virginia Ave. flop house thinking how I’m excited everyone else but me can still make extra money.
