We've got our own contingent of dudes taking the lanyard off because they are frustrated with some of the union leadership or recent events. The problem is there are only TWO sides to take. You either support the union and push for the policies and/or changes you want to see or you support the company. There is no other option, and simply choosing not to openly support your pilot union is as good as cheerleading the company's side/position.

Clueless. It’s not a statement of saying you support the union, by wearing a lanyard, it’s a message to management that we are united in our goal.
I swear, nothing has changed from 2018, different cast
but same apathy. Can’t wait for the “I support the union, I just don’t believe in picketing”. This pilot group needs to sack the F up.

You don’t have to respect them to wear the lanyard. Do you respect your fellow pilots? That’s who you’re hurting. We don’t all agree with what our union does. You can hate them and still wear your lanyard, it’s easy.

I’m about as pro ALPA as anyone but I’m a clip guy. I can’t stand any lanyard. I wore the green one for three years and hated it everyday getting caught on things and people struggling to remember my name but my ID had spun around on the lanyard. I do have my SPA ID backer displayed proudly. I will say if you’re going to wear a lanyard it should be an ALPA lanyard. No one cares how long you’ve been here or that you’re a titans or longhorns fan.
