They seemed to care quite a bit when we had the “Ready to Strike” lanyard…..

Yup, they sure did! Back to Bendo asking “will you take those red lanyards off now” after the AIP.

But yeah, lanyards don’t do anything.

Yeah, management loved us wearing ready to strike red lanyards in 2017 and passengers worried that we would go on strike at any time. Passengers don’t understand the RLA and self help process, but they do understand what the word “strike” means and how it affects their travel plans

The same guys saying “yuh I support ALPA but lanyards don’t mean nothing, I’ll keep wearing my University of State A&M Tech lanyard” are the same ones who tear up when that entire team puts a helmet sticker or jersey patch on to commemorate a team achievement or goal. Same with unit patches for the ex military guys.

The irony is ironical.

You missed the point. Unity. When I show up and I see the person I’m flying with in a non compliant uniform. Pants just a shade off, Spirit lanyard yet no ALPA tie, pin, or ALPA lanyard, I know this person also probably won’t tip the van driver and probably works their own deals.

or maybe you are just a miserable person. Sounds like you need a job at delta roaming the terminal looking for pilots without their hat on.

You want to be compensated and treated with respect, then you dress the part. This has already be hashed out here about uniforms and tips. There are pages and pages of it. But I’m guessing you are the typical millennial and won’t ever grasp that concept. So go throw on your Kohl’s pants and North Face and I’ll see you out there.

Same school of thought for those who won’t do the bare minimum of wearing a lanyard, attending picketing events, and they will be the first ones complaining about our contract.

Guys won’t do the bare minimum. But like you say, that USAF lanyard tells us all how patriotic you are.
