An email a few times a year from the chiefs reminding everyone to look professional wouldn't hurt.

I do draw the line at black sneakers though. I would have to say something and I have. One guy told me he had a doctor's note to wear them lol....

One time I wore a backpack for an assignment. It was hard squeezing past the 30 flight attendants in the 20 person capacity crew room with that thing on. It was harder to slide to a working computer to check in but lucky for me, the third one turned on. "good airplane, brakes are hot, sorry we didn't see you we would have left it running" said the Captain. "It's ok I replied". I slide into my seat, power the bird up, notice its 88 degrees in the cabin. Oh there's no air available at this gate, I'll get the APU on after all we only have 25 minutes till we're supposed to push. Still waiting on the cleaners but hell I don't pay the fuel bill. No one is answering in ops, I'll run up to the gate to ask the gate agent to call the cleaners. I get back up top, tell the agent we need cleaners. Right as I turn around to head back to the gate, I notice someone tweeting something to Spirit on their phone. I don't normally look at other people's phones but this got my attention. I say "GREAT FLIGHT EXPERIENCE SO FAR BUT THE PILOT WAS WEARING A BACKPACK #NEVERAGAIN #SPIRITAIRLINES #TRASH #UNPROFESSIONAL"

Kids had sports just before my commute, so uniform in the car and shower and change at the airport. Forgot shoes, had black sneakers, bought $250 J&J shoes at the airport. We might not make enough, but enough to look the part.
