The rest of the burger is the rest of the CBA in a comprehensive JCBA. Things like work rules. If management wants their problems fixed they know what the market is and it comes with a me too clause as well. I’m not responsible for fixing the problem they created. They know how to fix it and it doesn’t take years of negotiating. Pay is black and white, not nuanced. This could get done in one day followed by a vote.

Haha. Serious? If you mean pours it resources into planes to sit on ramps because of staffing, sure.
Spirit is being run into the ground by Teddy and Bendo. Their resources are being wasted by horrible management.

Growth? Ted and the boys have cut our capacity and continue to do so, because they can’t staff any part of the operation adequately.
Spirit Airlines expects to report weaker financial results in the fourth quarter, mainly due to typical industry seasonality and soaring fuel prices. Adding to the pressure, Spirit has reduced its capacity plan due to labor constraints. It now plans to increase capacity by approximately 11.2% relative to Q4 2019, down from its previous plan of 23% growth.

The reduced capacity plan implies lower aircraft utilization, driving unit costs higher. Furthermore, half of the capacity reduction is centered on Spirit's Fort Lauderdale operations, due to staffing shortages there. That will hurt unit revenue, as Florida routes tend to perform well above average in the fall and winter.

New airplanes when you have nearly the youngest and most fuel efficient fleet already is growth. Do you seriously believe B6 is buying NK to get Cinquo de Mayo? The order book is key. Average fleet age for the JB 320s is 17 years. Most of them are CEOs. And Airbus isn’t able to accelerate A320 deliveries to airlines further down the line because supply chain issues are handicapping their output. And 220 output is being hurt even worse.
And yeah, right now for NK it’s like the sorcerers apprentice, more new aircraft inbound than we can staff, and that’s a GOOD thing, since if they don’t raise rates and get those aircraft into production the leasing and financing costs will eat NK alive. That is what is called leverage. And far more leverage for the pilot group than touting slave labor wages and no insurance for newbies and allowing the company to keep an endless supply of cheap first year labor going.
The interest and leasing expense of those aircraft sitting will get NK to a negotiating table in a manner that abusing new hires never will.
