JetBlue rates are a double edge sword. It’s not much of an increase for captains but it’s 20-25% for middle of the road FO’s. Alaska or better rates aren’t happening this time around, just isn’t enough time to get a full deal done. So it’ll be take some money now and more at the TPA and JCBA or stay where we’re at till a jcba. Going to be the only two options this time around.

Flame away but I’m being realistic, obviously we all want 700/hr

This is exactly what the NC stated is their goal. If we want Alaska rates, it comes with years of negotiations…..

At 8% inflation, years of negotiations would still leave you 16-24% behind.

Why cant people acknowledge both that 331 is unlikely and unreasonable for a two year deal and 283 based on a 4 year old deal and 8 percent inflation is also too low?

Agreed! Folks are trying to be real by what the MEC laid out in their call a week or two ago.

Meanwhile, both companies will continue to hemorrhage pilots.

Some of you need to go back and watch the vid. I personally didn't get the "we should just settle for garbage" vibe at all and what MCDU posted was garbage. He spoke of being "realistic" and then threw out 700/hr?

Long story short, if you don't like whatever deal they might get, vote "NO". There is no reason to settle.

Well, from what I remember PS said that what Alaska got was the result of years of negotiations. How else am I supposed to interpret that?

$330 is NOT unreasonable.

B6 captains with the $13 WOCL and $5 INTL overrides make $303 on a 4 year old deal.

Spirit management will ask for what they believe will lessen, not halt, attrition. Not a penny more. If they feel that JB rates will accomplish that, that's what they will ask. If they feel that increasing first year pay and nothing else will accomplish that, make no mistake that is what they will ask for. If they feel that it will take $500/hour to make Gen Z pilots get over the stigma of telling chicks/dudes that they work for Spirit, perhaps they'll offer that.

They could offer AK+1 today if they wanted to. But they're not. Think about that.

The issue is that there is no amount of pay that will stop people from leaving a dying base to go to a legacy or even Southwest to live in base. These massive displacements in legacy strongholds was a bold strategy that is going to sink them.

I don’t have hard data, but it seems like a majority of the people leaving have been here over a year, based on my seniority number. People are mainly leaving because of the displacement, lack of vision on the JetBlue merger, and the single fleet type causing stagnation. It’s pretty clear the aircraft they have on order are going to be sold/transferred to another carrier, while they increase operations elsewhere.
