Because it can't sustain if your costs are the same. Simple. One main reason it works now because overall labor costs are low. If pilots get top pay, don't you think other work groups will want it and deserve it?? There goes business model.

goodness, you used a bunch of words to show everybody that you have no idea what the hell you are even talking about.

Honest question. If a company pays employees the same as others, fuel costs what it does, and aircraft cost what they do, what's makes an lcc work? You can't charge $49 for tickets when your operating costs are the same as everybody. Business model doesn't work. You can only count on so many people not realizing they have to pay for bags.

It’s already been mentioned but you don’t get it. It’s about utilization. Airplanes not flying at peak utilization is why we aren’t profitable and why the company is even at the table. Paying us delta pay wouldn’t make or break profitability. There are cost advantages elsewhere and utilization is a big part of that.

Pilots have never been and will never be in charge of making the airline profitable. That's why the beard gets his million dollar bonuses and stock options. If gas prices go up, they charge more. It's simple. Every airline's labor price is going up, so they will all charge more. The ULCC model depends on cramming more butts in the seats, charging for anything extra, and flying the crap out of the airplanes. Pilot compensation in line with legacies doesn't hinder that end. Airplanes sitting on the ground does, however.

Company pushing Red Eyes, offering extra $15/hr for those who do them. Guess they want to start doing more red eyes from what i've heard.

Looks like a NO from me.......but need to see complete agreement before making decision.

You don't get it. Pilots pay goes to top, guess what FAs want top pay, rampers, mechanics, etc. Overall labor bill is HUGE for any airline. I'm not not just talking about pilot pay. Total labor. Your business models thrives on lower costs which pretty much equals lower wages all around.

Come back to me in a few years when you have 100s of millions in merger expenses, labor through the roof and tell me how your profit sharing check is doing. You show you know nothing.
