Yeah man, i just can't see myself late 40's early 50's still fighting for that bite of the apple. All the best man. |

Another consideration. Year 1 legacy giving up 4 or 5 vacations. Year 2 give up 2 or 3. Year three another 2 or 3 ect…. Never making those days off up for a career. Not to mention none of the legacies were able to get to 5 credit per day. It’s substantially less days off till 65. Not my choice just reality.
Legacies are 5:15 average credit per day right now. |

I’m not really understanding what’s you’re saying about the vacation thing. You start with 3 weeks of vacation at AA. 2 weeks at DL and UA.
Legacies are 5:15 average credit per day right now. Personally, I have 4 weeks (28 days) at 5 credit per day this year and assuming nothing changes till 65 that will be true till then. Just looking at UAL for example. I would give up 16 weeks of vacation till I turn 65. That and according to a recent Alpa contract comparison UAL tops at 4.25 credit per vac day. |

It was a good run for sure. Still ****ed off im put in this position. |

You start accruing 3 year one for the following year. Are you saying day one of ground school you have 3 available? Also, I’m not sure how you’re getting an average with PBS? Looks like your new agreement started at 3.67 and tops at 4.58 credit per day.

listen, (especially with a family) leaving the money and seniority was absolutely brutal BUT, there are significant upsides. It’ll be aight |

then Call out Sick, lol. Giving up Vacation at Nk absolutely was the worst part about leaving. All summer vacations etc. There are ways to get days off. I mean C’mon….. we’re pilots. 😂

nah I hear you. It really is the brutal reality. I’ll never have it as good as I had it schedule wise at NK. There is simply no comparison. Just saying there are ways to mitigate the pain and suffering. I blocked like 50hrs from June 1 to Sep 1 😂😂. I used to do one Legger EWR-MYR Y-LIST for what I make my entire month at UAL. Ahhh the Good old Days! |

1999-2007 - 767FO 2007-2008 - 777FO 2008-2015 - 767FO 2015-2016 - 747FO 2016-2021 - 777FO 2021 - today 767CAP only 18 years(ish) on the 767 RAT disabled on the ground Arms above 80knots deploys in the event of dual engine failure provides adequate hyd power above 130 knots Can manually deploy by pushing the button (yes that works on the ground so don't F with that switch) I fly with many FOs that have been here 6,8,10 years, with all of that time on the 767. I have also seen many take the first 737 or A320 Cap bid they could get. The cool thing about having a large varied fleet is that you have options. That doesn't mean everyone is going to choose the same path though. That benefits us all, case in point, there are still many 787/777 FOs that are senior to me and I am 43% in my base as a 767 Captain. Everybody has whatever choice their seniority can hold, some choose to exercise that for the biggest highest paying position, others choose to stay super senior in their current seat, most some middle ground, but either way more choices for everybody means it is easier for more of us to be happy with where we are. That is the real benefit of the larger airlines. Much easier to get to different seats that work for your QOL needs based on your own personal situation. When your personal situation changes, you still have the wide variety of choices you had before, you just may choose a new one. And yes, having done both Appendix H and AQP, AQP is much more gentlemanly. |

Over the years I’ve flown with tons of ex something pilots (EAL, TWA, AWA, US, EK, etc) none have had their eyes in the rear view mirror as much as you have. If it was a utopia at spirit you should never have left your position there. I bet by day 3 your captains have had enough. |

The reality is that MANY Spirit folks would still be at Spirit if it weren’t for their current situation and management. No one faults them, it is what it is and it’s part of the industry |

And yeah, it is a painful transition at mid forties with 4 kids going from Senior CA at $312/hr to bottom 99% At $120/hr. That has everything to do with Seniority. This is by no means “bashing”, it’s called reality. Anyway, you have my phone number be happy to chat about it 👍

Pretty sure 99% of the posts here aren't 100% reflective of face to face communication. You know, the internet... I'm pretty sure I've flown with you before. You're the guy who's great as long as I sit for 4 days and say, "oh cool, yup, uh huh, really, I didn't know that", etc while listening to you ramble on never once asking anything about me. |

January line was 21 legs, 18 crew meals, #jeffreydahmer. And starting February, I wont have to commute for the first time in over 2 decades. |
