Not only is that not the case, but there currently is too much domestic capacity in the market. Nobody wants the planes with the exception of F9 who is finding them in a position of grow or die. LGA slots have value. Besides that, nobody wants to take on non fuel efficiency CEOs, problem NEOs and the cost to reconfigure them.
We’re paying the leases on them…they can’t just sell them. It’s a legally binding contract that cannot be amended or voided until we default unless both parties agree to do so. Basics of contracts…

spirits slots are most likely designated for a LCC/ULCC carrier which makes the legacies unable to operate them

This is so far from being accurate. Keep telling yourself that.

I would assume this is also just the beginning considering their major push to steal customers.
It's 46 flights a week. The numbers you are throwing out there don't add up.

spirit is definitely paying for them one way or another.... those planes might not be leased but they are probably financed up to the chimney and davis is footing the monthly bill until they are sold

I don't know man, old rich people don't normally come to South Florida in August. It is a little warm outside.

Maybe, but unlikely.

They want low fares because it helps keep expectations low with regard to airport infrastructure. Start charging legacy fares and people are going to expect more from the airport, which itself is very lacking from a pax experience standpoint.

Horrible food options and not very many of them (seriously the line for coffee is like thirty deep most mornings). Hardly any lounges. Gate holds for customs during the busy hours because there isn't enough room in immigration.

I could be wrong on this, but if the legacies began to dominate FLL and raise fares to reflect their premium service products, Broward county would have to do some serious "getting their stuff together" to be better in line with the expectations of legacy customers as opposed to all of the half assing that goes on there now.

You've never been to CLT, DFW, or MIA have you?

This is a legit normal day in CLT:

As a bonus it's right outside the crew room as well.

Yeah CLT is garbage but DFW and MIA are way more developed than FLL.

This is very similar to the offer early this year (363 sale) I expect NK to announce a bankruptcy under chapt 11 with an acquisition by F9. Overlapping doesnt mean SQUAT in this type of bankruptcy acquisition. An agreement has clearly been reached with Bill and the Bond Holders... NK operations goes away, will cease operations, but employees such as Pilots, FA's, Mechanics will merge.

So, a review for the ignorant(which seems to be 99% of you) acquisition of some of the assets, merge of the employees. a JCBA will be worked on once deal closes...Unions still have legal grounds under the bankruptcy code.. A judge still would be required to gut the Spirit CBA... my guess is a judge wont touch it knowing a JCBA is around the corner and would prefer to let the company and unions settle it and do their negotiations.

Im guessing Franke wants the NEO's, agreed to sell all the CEO's and other assets and some stock and cash to please the Bond holders(we'll see when merger agreement goes public). Spirit has about 120 NEO's... he will take ownership of those basically overnight. Big growth for the new F9... Thats what's happening here and it sounds like a deal is pretty much done. Franke is 88yrs old, he aint flying across the country to talk about gate space LOL

Bill Franke got his deal after more than a decade... did yall think Bill would just go away and give up?!! LOL.
There won’t be an asset sale to Frontier. Of the 206 airplanes, only 48 of them are owned, the rest are leases. Those leased airplanes will be taken back by the leasing companies and re-leased in Asia at a premium. The 48, many of those don’t have engines and are parked out in Phoenix. Airlines aren’t rushing to buy NEOs that are missing 2 engines. The Hangars in Detroit and Houston will get sold, our HQ and Traning Center will be offered up to Atlas, the Legacies will make a run at FLL Terminal G, and the rest will be carved up and auctioned off by the creditors committee. Spirit is no longer in control of its own destiny.
