AI isn’t all there yet….. Our job is definitely not white collar. Sure, it’s technical, but we’re definitely manual laboring the plane up into the sky. Also you really can’t be a white collar job if you can be replaced in about 2 hours or less. Not sure why it’s a touchy subject, Blue or white, what matters is how much money you’re making.

while I agree that we are our own worst enemies, gotta watch out for number 1. Just like I will vote no for a concession. Not going to make a difference. Especially since C suite getting fat bonuses.

Spirit Airlines filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for the second time on August 29, 2025, less than six months after emerging from its previous restructuring. On the same day, the company entered into retention agreements with its named executive officers, awarding a total of $6.317 million in retention bonuses to incentivize them to remain during the restructuring process. The specific amounts are as follows:
• David Davis (President & CEO): $2,918,000
• Frederick S. Cromer (EVP & CFO): $1,185,000
• Thomas Canfield (EVP & General Counsel): $1,082,000
• John Bendoraitis (EVP & COO): $1,132,000
These bonuses are repayable if the executives leave before certain milestones, such as one year from the agreement date or 90 days after emerging from bankruptcy, unless terminated without cause or for other qualifying reasons.

As they have for every year for four years now. Take solace in the fact that everyone is where they have chosen to be and have been able to make well informed choices, and even if the gamble comes up snake eyes the industry is hiring strong.

Spirit guys and gals are wondering if they'll have a job by Christmas, and we have people here arguing on a Spirit thread no less whether the profession is white collar, blue collar, brown collar, yellow collar, or just plain old stained collar. Seriously, what's next...... do you people also need to argue about how to wipe your a$$... is it up-down, down-up, or the fire hydrant style bidet? 🤦🏻♂️

visit with some of our FO’s who got rejected from legacies for not enough time and rejected from regionals for too much time. Then rejected from classier part 135 because they are Arline guys. Guys have had apps out for years and nothing. All working under reserve rules that really inhibit any extra flying so they just keep getting stuck deeper and deeper and more and more depressed sitting in a crash pad day after day.
moral with the bottom part of the pilot group is generally in the dumps.

we as crew members never do such thing. We put our faces and try to make our passengers happier . We are the last chance to make it right, but I digress, we are in a serious position and we as a family need to help the company. 10 years is a lot of seniority to let go. Not going to start over at a legacy.
