Because speculation doesn’t help anyone. Words get twisted and taken out of context. If there is ever an incident on any aircraft it’s best to wait for the NTSB to release findings. If there is no report it’s a nothing burger and a bunch of wild nonsense can spiral out of control in a 24hr new cycle that feeds off of clicks and things that burn make clicks

Anything is possible, but find that unlikely. I have routinely descended out of RVSM to avoid a bad ride and fuel has never been an issue. I just really hope they didn't divert because they were afraid to handfly!!

They were coming from IAH and diverted to PNS. Almost to MCO. Whatever the reason for the divert, it was a situation of LAND ASAP vs Nearest suitable. An emergency was definitely declared.

Who asked for “speculation” specifically. The post was in pursuit of information from those who may have been involved or were made aware of the details. As simple as that. Yes, this is exactly the place we discuss this sort of thing. And yes, we are all adults (well most) and can ignore speculation on our own.

No offense, but anyone in the know is not going to talk about it on a public forum. Everyone else who isn't in the know is just speculating and pretending that they know, when in reality they have no idea.

I guess I’m an idiot. Because if I knew it was a big nothing burger and just a precautionary measure of some sort, I’d discuss it amongst others. Stinks to know that when some one DOES know, they’ll never discuss it on this forum. Oh well….

If you'd discuss it on an open, public forum, you just might be an idiot.

The crew that ferried it out the next day to MCO had like 11 MEL's on it from the incident. So no it wasn't "just the autopilot". Case closed move on people.

Such a sensitive response.

Have you ventured into the safety section of this forum? All sorts of discussion regarding incidents. From people that know.

Can you explain the repercussions of someone saying “ yeah, was in the area and heard on the radio “X”. Bumped into the crew after and they told me “XYZ”

???

I guess I’m at a loss as to how it’s so morally incorrect or harmful to the aviation safety community, for someone to say they had an engine failure or a gear malfunction, while operating a flight. No one is divulging details as to what they did or how they treated the incident. Just a story about something going wrong. Relax man. No one gives a crap.
