Some rep you were. Basically talking down to the entire pilot group on the way out the door. I hope you enjoyed prepping and interviewing while on FPL . So great to think about my dues funding it all

Because the DEC money will pay my bills. FO NK Salary won’t. Especially knowing that none of us should be picking up extra flying or flying premium with so many of our brothers and sisters furloughed and out on the streets.

what DEC job is paying more than an NK FO? The fake AA pay that’ll get taken away next year? There is no way this is true.

edit, forgot about Longevity match

Sadly you are correct. I think we are the most volatile airline in the industry now. We lost almost $1 Billion dollars in 9 months. That isn’t sustainable. I’m just so worried that NK doesn’t have the money on hand to survive another Chapter 11. Full bankruptcies take 18-24 months. I also think with our Debt and our NEOs, that no one is gonna wanna buy us as a whole.

They don’t listen . Hell everyone else is gone now and we still have a group giving the Dallas Cowboy’s Cheerleaders a run for their money

You think SPA ALPA can literally send an email out saying "We Are ALL FOOKED, LEAVE, LEAVE NOW." Anyone with eyes partially opened would have known for a while that this isnt trending in the right direction and tough decisions will need to be explored. The only false narrative I have seen is from some on this forum and some guys on the line who act like this will all end well.

Im sorry youre in your position, I hated having to give up double digit years of seniority when I left, but I dont blame the union. I should have left 2 years earlier but that's hindsight and nobody's "fault" but mine. But when I read the 77 Vice Chairs fairway email and it basically said "this place is minor leagues and will never get better," that got me thinking. When the 77 CA, the ORD rep, a NC member and other MEC pilots left, that was the club over the head.
Yeah, once the 77 Vice left, then the 77 Chair left, then the 77 new Vice left, then the 109 Vice left, and the 109 Chair left, and the 18 Vice Left, and the 18 Chair left, and the 98 Chair left, and the 98 Vice left, and the newest Negotiator left, and the former MEC Vice left, I should have taken ALL of these departures as my cue to get serious about leaving as well. These guys were all under NDAs is my understanding. But still, they could have been less cryptic and more forward about why they actually left. It’s my understanding that the new MEC ViceChair and the new MEC Secretary have apps out as well. Does anyone know if our MEC Chair is also leaving? Are any of our reps staying?? God this is so depressing. Like being in Berlin and watching all your generals leave for South America in the spring of 1945.

Commuting to reserve sucks, but might be worth it to hold CA seat in the long run.
Not true at all. For career expectations they look at the whole group, not individual positions on the seniority list

Not sure how many years you have on property, but I will assume you are at year 5.

Spirit year 5 FO is 176hr and you will be a line holder, living in base. Skywest DEC is 142 hr and you will be commuting to reserve. Skywest CA pay doesn't hit 176 until year 8. You will be perpetually junior, as every FO upgrading will knock you down in seniority. They also have a ridiculous training contract you have to sign, so you will be on the hook for that, as well. You won't hit $176 until year 4 at PSA. Still, commuting to reserve.

I think your best course of action would be to ride out Spirit as long as possible and contact a career counseling service like Raven, Emerald Coast, etc and find a path to a legacy. Commuting to a DEC job one of the worst jobs in this business.

My understanding is the current MEC Chair and NC is in training now for the first time in years. I found that out last week
