All I’ll say is this…..once you leave for a Legacy, you quickly realize why no one from Delta American United UPS FedEx or hell even Southwest, Alaska, or JetBlue ever applied to work at Spirit, yet we always had dozens of pilots leave every month for those carriers. Spirit is very much a stepping stone. No one grew up dreaming of working there. You had to settle along the way, and then lie to yourself about how amazing Spirit was to justify staying.

yeah you’re not wrong but you’re over selling it. Yes nobody leaves a legacy for spirit, what a profound revelation… crazy to think I had to “settle” for being an AB CA in my 20’s. How will I ever rebuild… thank god you came along to show us the light and the error of our ways.

Yeah I’m an idiot for staying as long as I have. It’s just really started to hit me this week how much hiring I’ve let slip away. I’d rather be at a United right now with 5,000 below me than be at Spirit who’s headed to another bankruptcy In afraid.

You can’t live in the past. All you can do is keep moving forward.

4 kids, 1 headed to college, 2 in highschool, one in her last year of middle school. Only debt I have is the house. Cars are paid off, no credit cards. But it still takes the better part of $25,000-$30,000 a month to run our house with all the sports my kids play. If this place folds, I’ll burn almost $400,000 if it takes me a year to start getting decent paychecks somewhere else.

But personally I’m halting travel ball for the kids before I drain my 401k or think of house foreclosure. Needing $360k net a year to run the house, as a middle seniority Spirit CA is a house of cards. Those numbers are senior 777 numbers. That’s over $600k annual gross. Honestly best of luck.
