For those bottom Captains about to get displaced, what’s yall plans, commute, or downgrade to avoid commuting?
You can’t really can’t afford to downgrade, but you’re applying to 135 carriers???

Should be super easy to trim $5k from that.

But holy crap, I thought I spent a lot of money.

As someone closer in age to being a teenage kid than having them, $42,000 per year is bonkers just to play sports. I remember not wanting my friends to know it was almost 10 grand over a year to get my private senior year…

These 105 Captains from Vegas are gonna push SO MANY junior pilots out of DFW and IAH into Florida and maybe even the Northeast. I never should have ever left the Corporate Job I had. The only reason I did was my ex wife ended up sleeping with one of the owners while I was in long term training on the Hawker. FML. I think for me, I’m gonna nuke my 401k, pay off my house, downgrade back to FO, and pull all my kids out of their club sports, and then just keep applying everywhere and anywhere. F&ck!!!!!!! I should have left when Frontier fell through the first time! F&ck this POS airline!! I hope Ted slips and falls and his guitar lands right up his a$$!!!!!!!!!!
Ted’s gone man…

Now it was all Ben. He’s the one that trashed Ned’s Airline and turned it into Section 8 Airways.

Yeah I wasn’t a fan of Ted either but it’s not entirely his fault. He doesn’t work at F9 and they’re struggling too so it’s more of a ULCC issue than a Ted one

Watched my neighbors spend insane amounts on travel sports for their kids when there were good municipal programs that cost an absolute fraction of what they paid.

But what do I know. When I was a kid, registration for little league was $5 for the year. They provided all the equipment, and the city ran the fields I could ride my bike to.

And no, not a boomer.

Hang in there. AA is cranking up the hiring again. The Union posts the new hire previous flying jobs and they seem to really like Spirit pilots. I know I really like flying with them. It will get better for all of you. This is a cyclical business.

kids sports cost and college costs have gone completely crazy. It’s all a little silly I was a D1 scholarship athlete. I was pretty psychotic about my sport. My kids really didn’t care much for sports. I am a firm believer if they have enough desire to make it to a scholarship then you don’t have to spend all that money. If your kid isn’t bothering you if they can go to practice yet then they probably don’t want it enough. Remember that other than football there are very few men’s scholarships Just because the travel team coach says your kid is good enough doesn’t mean it’s true. It is a business and they need your money. It could be better invested in a 529 plan.
