“Theatening other steps” is very broad. You might even argue that hiring that latest bankruptcy consultant meets that threshold.

Well Spirit themselves said they'd be bankrupt again within the year in mid-August. Then two weeks later they were.

And depending on how law works “threatening” might not mean just actions and words, but also passive situation. Perhaps their argument is that a precarious position, especially when the card processors increased the holdback, is “threatening” bankruptcy

This, along with the hiring of the bankruptcy and M/A consulting firm probably didn’t create a lot of confidence in our lessor.

Thanks for the insight, I agree with you and Vacanacybid.

I have no doubt Spirit will make it out of this. Stand strong and you’ll be at the top of the ULCC’s once more. Keep the faith.

Not sure if anyone subscribes to “Visual Analytics” but they had an interesting article on NK shrinking down to an All CEO flight and may work out significantly better for an acquisition

Perhaps, but that’s unlikely to be the outcome. Consider that an all-CEO airline focused around the strengths of Spirit’s network - including the sexy FLL gates and Latin American presence, no more exposure to GTF problems, and a leveraged, yet fully controlled fleet of CEO aircraft - suddenly becomes a VERY attractive acquisition target. All of what other airlines want, with none of the extras.”
