Honest question for you Spirit guys. At what point do you start just looking out for you? What I mean is, are you starting to exhaust your sick time in the assumption there will be no company left to call out sick on. Do you even ponder a no show if things keep going south because you might never get the last paycheck anyway?
Sorry for all you guys are going through. I hope it all works out.

Be careful if you have a large sick bank. I was at a regional that shut down twice. First time it shut down I was out several hundred hours of sick time. I wasn't able to accrue much when it shut down again.
That's significant money especially if your a captain with decent time on property. When Spirit shuts down I'm not sure how long you will wait, or if, you will get compensated. Even then, they may be a hefty discount especially if the liquidation is messy with the creditors.
I'm somewhere else now, and while it sucks to be commuting at the bottom for a few months, I'm at least not waking up wondering if my company will be around in a month. I guess it's about picking what problems you want to have. Some are better than others when it comes to my mortgage.

I'm pulling for you guys and really hoping a chapter 7 doesn't happen but I've got one piece of advice from someone who has been through this kind of thing before. Open a separate checking account for your paycheck and sweep any payments immediately into another account not associated with your direct deposit. I was in similar position in 2008 and they were able to claw back two paychecks when the doors closed. Ended up getting some of the money from the bankruptcy court years later but not a a fun experience. Labor isn't at the back of the bankruptcy trough but it's nowhere near the front either, especially with a company as encumbered as NK.
