Spirit of NKS
I'm just asking. Do not go nuclear. What percentage of our pilot group is affected by this portion of our contract in the end? A gain is a gain but, this seems a bit weird to pound the pulpit on this issue. Trust me. I get that we will probably end up giving the 4 days off away for no out of base trip trades but, what do other airlines have as far as LTD? Do you plan on using LTD in the end or what? Once again I am just asking.

No way in hell I'm giving up 4 days off (should be 5, btw) for any amount of pay!!!
Pay rates come and go with ease. Work rules are much different. Once that's gone, it's gone for good. That 'days off' provision is gold to any commuter or anyone that likes to manipulate their schedule for improved QOL. If you're not a commuter today...you're only one base closure away from becoming one. Think long and hard before you sell that down the river (the figurative you...not directed at Tine).
Only a complete bloomin idiot would give up four days off to get rid of out of base trip trades or pickups. A complete idiot. I'd fully expect someone who voted for that to need there head examined, cause I wouldnt trust that fool in a cockpit. Cmon are people really that stupid?

We shouldn't be talking about giving away ANYTHING in our contract. This new contract should be straight gains across the board.
Once we lose something, we are never getting it back! 150% pay is gone so forget about giving stuff up for it.
If we cannot get the best possible contract gains now that the company is kicking ... and doubling in size, then when?
Growth will slow down, and so will upgrades.
Work rules, protection, and pay negotiated this summer are the only constant, until next time around.
I doubt in 5 years we will be in a better position for contractual gains.
The time is NOW.
No concessions.

Allright, I guess I can believe you are joking. But I bet there are some that arent. Even if we got a huge contract this company still gonna make planefuls of cash. Big cash. No consessions that affect quality of life and a great increase in pay and benefits. Anything less is gonna be a loss for the pilots.

It's a little disturbing that a productive conversation regarding the massive definciencies of our LTD policy results in very little reaction, but a joke regarding giving up the 4 days off brings you guys out of the woodwork. If you somehow missed that he was joking in his original post, he clarified in a later post on this same page that he was in fact joking.
Back to the gaping hole in our contract that is LTD...
