I understand that, but thanks. I do have that information (Flight Ops has a slightly different address, incidentally). I was just trying to find a CONTACT, an actual name, to address the letter to (director of training, chief pilot, whoever handles incoming resumes, etc...). Perhaps it's not particularly relevant at Spirit, I don't know. I'm just trying to approach it as professionally as possible, and have always addressed cover letters to a person. Anyways thanks...

That is the only address I have ever known. The one which I addressed my cover letter to about 3 years ago. Granted I have been furloughed for a bit so things change. Hence the reason I don't know who you should address your cover letter to. It changes quite often.

I understand, and thanks anyway. I was just trying to grab a name before I rattle this application off but probably no biggie anyway. Hopefully your furlough is about done. I'm in the same boat... Good luck.

As for the contact name, I'd recommend addressing it to "Spirit Airlines Pilot Recruiting Team" or something very similar. We don't know who will be on the panel, but it will assuredly be more than one person and this title will suffice. I'd use the aforementioned address (2800 Executive Way).
As for the copy/paste of a cover letter and resume, I'd suggest you combine them into one word document and just ensure they are page 1/page 2; that way they will view them both. Others would argue that the website is only requesting a resume, so that's all you should submit. I don't believe in Jedi mind tricks, so I don't think this is a sticking point. Do whichever you are more comfortable with.
Hope this is what you're looking for and good luck!

I agree with you on the professionalism- I'm big on first impressions and a CL/resume may be your first with some companies. Looks like it will be with Spirit since we've never been a big presence at job fairs.

Thanks again. I'll spin the wheel and see what happens!

Does anyone have a good guess on how ACY is going to bid if/when a mandatory goes out? I know first time around some got stuck there that didn't want it. Will this continue to be the case?

Only one person was forced to go to ACY from the last recall.
That pilot will get back to FLL if there is another vancancy bid.

After this December's vacancy bid, ACY is relatively senior on both sides. I doubt you will see any movement in the near future. However, I was told that ACY is doing great and might expand slightly. Also, I have been hearing a lot lately from guys close to management that an LA base will open early-mid next year. This one appears to be more than just a little rumor. Either way, I don't like it.

All furloughs recalled
Just got an email from COO announcing the recall of all returning furloughs (and a stated "double digit upgrade" remark). Looks like the recalls will fill into classes over 4 vacancy bids (Jan-Feb-Mar-Apr). I am of the understanding that the mandatory portion will be offered throughout this period, in seniority order (i.e.: if a recall has some loose ends to tie up they can defer as late as April, depending on seniority and class size). Likewise, the number of new-hires will be dependent on how many accept the mandatory recall. Sounds like the classes will be a mix of recalls and new-hires (unless every recall accepts the first-come classes).
Great news for a place that has had guys and gals on the street for some time. Welcome back!
