Spirit of NKS

Just go to B6 so WE can all Bhappy... and move up one in seniority. Funny, flew recently with a guy that had been at TWA then on to Eastern: Asked him how NK's contract compared to those places... you might be disappointed in hearing what he thinks about our current contract.

OK, I'll bite. How is comparing our current contract to that of 2 defunct airlines relevant in any way? Was he saying he was happy with ours?

yes happy and thinks it is a very good qol contract. matt you are a smart guy... something to the effect: based upon a guy that has been in the business since the mid/late 70’s, worked at two former legacy carriers (before and after dereg.) he just might have a pretty good idea of what a decent contract is???? verstehen?
if I remember correctly eastern was once one of the top companies in america to work for.... before lorenzo of course; and I’m not sure but twa probably was a pretty good place as well?
i’ve had several older pilots tell me: “pay can come and go but don’t give up your work rules!” (they are hard if not difficult to get back)
do i think the contract is perfect, NO but show me a place that has a perfect contract...

Yep, probably just glad to have a job to finish out his aviation existence. Of course he should have stock piled some cash during the glory days at Eastern, military retirement perhaps? Yes, this isn't a bad contract if it's your hobby. Sounds like a milder form of Corky's case of SJS. Too bad Aetna doesn't cover Shiny Jet Syndrome. Unfortunately the only cure for SJS is about a decade in the industry, of course then, you'll have to deal with a new crop of SJS clowns tell you how YOU don't get it.
I must say though, even with all the short hop LAS flying we do now, we still have the best schedules of any regional in the business!

Haha! yeah anything over 3 legs a day needs to go! Funny, how come ACY has such nice, two day trips worth 15 + hr, while FLL has 4 days worth 18?! Such nice, efficient flying two days.....

Tell me because I'm curious and not being sarcastic at all, exactly what do you like about working here at Spirit (if anything) and what concretely would you like to see improved? The Internet does not foster civil discussion or even clarity of thought. One gets the impression you're here under duress.
Hope that answered your question.

I like my job, I like (most of) the people I work with (Even Shifty ). Just as a matter of personal pride, I don't like leaving anything on the table - and we did. Now you pull out the 74% voted for, and I pull out the "most of that 74 were scared into voting yes by a disingenuous MEC and negotiating committee." If you need a refresher on the deceit perpetrated on this group by the above mentioned, go through the old posts, plenty of material there. I also get tired of reading the cheer leading from the "Just glad to be here" crowd. You will understand in a few years.
Hope that answered your question.

You should know that when you insinuate that someone you don't know anything about "will understand in a few years" you appear to sound like a pompous ass. I'm sure you don't mean to give that impression.
