Debate what, something that's done?, instead of just pulling fwd and just enjoying what you have. That kind of havoc. At least you agree on recalls and hopefully you don't think that they may take your job!! Peace. Hey Sailor, why are you allowing that 4 leg red eye pairing? It is dangerous. I am utterly appalled that the union signed off on this. I am dumbfounded. With help from God, I hope all those pairings complete safely. Where is ALPA and our MEC on this. Is it true they are OK with it? Peace and God be with us... |

NICE! (BTW, anyone get the latest tropical update yet?) My favorite part is the 1:11 turn in fll, just enough time to get tired. SWEET! I thought we had more input into the pairing/line construction now. Perhaps the scheduling committee confused "TAKING IT BACK" with "TAKING IT FROM THE BACK" |
That pairing is EXTREMELY dangerous. The only thing I think of is that the union is taking the position of, "Okay company, go ahead and do this to our guys...see what happens to your little schedule when our guys call out fatigued in BQN in the middle of the night."
No union leader in their right mind would sign off on that type of pairing...or, would they??? |

BTW, i do agree that next month's lines suck arss. Obviously, the Company nor our union seem to care anyway...My point is, that it doesn't matter what kind of contract, our company can care less. Cheers. |

Welcome back those coming back, and congrats to the UG's :) Welcome back to those coming back. I do have a question, with a Vacancy for 10 captains, and only 2 FO's, where does the extra headcount come from/go? As I understand the CBA, there are a static number of positions, unless there is a net vacancy or reduction. This bid seems to imply that the above positions are an addition, so 10 FO's upgrade, leaving 10 FO slots open, plus 2 new FO slots = 12 recalls. Does that math seem right? And if so, how many furloughs does that leave? |
I was wondering the same, but if IT IS 12 pilots and we still have 48-52 on fur, this will leave 36-40.
Then again, a "CA America style FO", has been telling ppl up in ACY, that the Co contacted almost everyone as a survey and only 13 are coming back. Personally, I think this kid is high and carries to many brain bag stickers, more than his experience allows. Nevertheless, its good news. :) |

Yea, I know CA America FO he's a buddy of mine. The breakdown is as follows: 1st Calls = 15 Mandatory = 20 No Info = 19 Undecided = 4 (between 1st or Mandatory) No calls were ever made, he sent out an email to all the furloughed pilots asking to see when they would come back. If you like you can PM me your email and I have him send you a copy. BTW, he's more of a Nerd/Dork than Capt. America. Capt. America and I will not be back on this next call. But, congrats to all the Furloughed pilots that do come back. Jedinight |

Spirit IPO
great news, for some!!!
Public IPO By JOHN KELL Spirit Airlines Inc. filed plans to hold an initial public offering of up to $300 million, with the Florida-based airline retaining about half of the net proceeds. Spirit, which provides travel to and from South Florida, the Caribbean and Latin America, offers low-priced basic service combined with a range of optional additional fees, targeting price-sensitive travelers. Although many carriers suffered from volatility in fuel costs and the severe economic recession, Spirit maintained relatively stable unit revenue while reducing costs, allowing it to remain profitable in the past three full years. However, for the six months ended June 30, Spirit swung to a loss , as operating expenses jumped on an increase in fuel and wage costs. Total revenue grew 2% to $357.4 million. According to the company's regulatory filing, it expects to retain $150 million from the offering. The remaining proceeds will be used to pay a $1.6 million termination fee with Indigo Partners LLC, which acquired a majority stake in Spirit in 2006. Other proceeds will be used to repay outstanding notes. Spirit is the largest carrier at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, as measured by passengers. It also has a significant presence in Atlantic City, N.J., Detroit and Myrtle Beach, S.C. More than 100 companies have filed plans with the Securities and Exchange Commission to hold IPOs and are currently working to complete the process. But a number of companies have faced challenges as they go public, with many downsizing or delaying their plans. There are a boat-load of 85+ block lines in fll for oct. There's a couple more jobs right there. Worst part of this, is we did it to ourselves. We had all the leverage in the world, and we threw it away. We could have been a participant in this IPO, but we bought into the oldest trick in the book. "We'll shut it down". We got what we deserve. |

They actually moved up the Nov 1 class to be effective Oct 11; not sure where you would get any of the other rumors from.

Got the recall yesterday (fri, sept 17). I was only told about a nov 1 class. I did hear the rumor (not from any official at NK) of a possible oct class and that if they could put it together, it would be in addition to the nov 1 class. Contactually I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing that the oct class would be optional, and as long as the nov 1 class stays intact, there would be no violation as recallees still have the option to get into the nov 1 class.
