FWIW, tomorrow is my one year anniversary and not to sound like a total d-bag, but I genuinely love working here
. There will always be things that need improvement but so far I'm really enjoying the ride. The best thing hands down have been the crews. It's nice to laugh and have a good time at work.
Lastly, I'm crediting 127hrs for March and blocking 72. Not bad considering it's my first month ever in my airline career where I'm making over $41.00 an hour.

I have to admit that getting hired by Spirit has been a God send to me! Spirit is what it is and I'm living in the FLL base, I drive to work, I get the days off I want and just like I stated in my interview, "There's nothing sexier than an airline making money and expanding with new airplanes". Could it be better? Of course! Could I be in a worse place? Hell Yes! Just like I tell people who want to fly on Spirit to those that want to work here: "It's not for everyone". I take it all on face value and appreciate what's here now without worrying too much about the future. Especially since I'm much closer to the end than the beginning!

Ill jump on the positive band wagon. Ive been here about 6 months so im struggling with the pay but I love the flying and even though I commute it hasnt bothered me a bit. I havent flown with a single captain that I didnt enjoy and learn something from. Im just trying to fly and learn as much as possible in case this upgrade really happens in under 3 years. But Sweet Baby Jeezus, get me to 2nd year pay before I have to start doing unpleasant things for money at the Quality Inn.

Sounds like they need to revamp the hiring process if that is a common attitude among the newhire crowd. Guess hiring the thickest logbook isn't the best plan after all?

The class that starts on St. Patrick's Day only has six students. That's 18 new hires for the month of March.
