So if I'm understanding correctly your max 6 days on is primarily to assure the "1 in 7". Does that work out to being able to do three stints in a row of that, followed by off time at the end of one month and into beginning of the next (14 days)?

And am I correct in assuming you can drop trips into open time for reduction in pay, which can be made up with pickups in other spots?

And how realistic is this after 6 months to a year?

You can swap as much stuff around to your liking as long as you're legal to fly it and the days you're swapping out of are green (staffing is good). You can't swap reserve days in flica as a reserve line holder, but as a relief holder you can swap RSV days for trips if you prefer. You can drop trips as long as those days are green. With the exception of LAS, maybe DFW, you should be able to hold a relief or hard line 2-4 months after OE (it all varies by where you're based).

The max 6 days on is a result of the 168hr look back where you must have 30 hrs of rest. But in general to cause the 12 day conflict, the end of the month must be 6 days on, then you have to bid and be awarded 6 days on at the beginning of the month.

Then during transition, they must remove 6 days worth of flying from your schedule and pay protect you because crew planning is not allowed to remove flying from the middle (contractual). The contract requires that they remove flying from the ends. So if you have a block of 12 days of reserve, 6 days of reserve get removed somewhere.

They also must remove you from flying if you are scheduled for more than 29hrs in 7 days (contractual not FAR)

As far as 3 stints of 12 days of reserve flying in a row, not likely, the situation comes up as a result of bidding a line that has a block of 6 days of flying at the end of one month or jockeying with your schedule to get six days of flying added or swapped into your schedule from open time at the end of the month before next month's bid closes, and then bidding for a block of 6 days of flying at the beginning of the next month.

I had a nice JM today - I'm sure there are other pilots that have done better than what I did today. I got called for a JM this morning. 7:30 flying - so at 200% credits 15:00. It caused a 29/7 conflict with my next 4 day, so scheduling removed me from the 4 day and pay protected 23:15 the trip was worth, so for one day of work, I got paid 38:15 and got 3 extra days off for my trouble.

Not going to beat a dead horse here, but Alaska pilots already have this. Similar size pilot group, and line bidding through FLiCA.

In the end it will reduce workload for crew/training planners, too.

Default resurrecting old thread

Looking for latest info on junior base, how long on reserve.

I know contact stuff is at a boiling point and fully support the pilot group and the frustration, just looking for current info on where new hires are going and how long before they are able to move.

Is reserve still a senior bid in some bases?

Thanks

New hires are mostly going to ACY with a lucky few getting FLL immediately I believe. Seems like FLL is attainable within a month if you don't get it at first.

As of a few weeks ago the most junior line holders in FLL were 01/02/17 DOH for a hard line and 04/11/17 for a relief line.

Can't say for sure because I'm too lazy to look but with as much as reserves are being used these days I don't think many people are doing it voluntarily.

You'd probably be better served posting something in the Spirit section of this forum, just be prepared for the "don't come here" responses.

God forbid that there is a spirit forum.

Thanks for the update.

To the other Delta Bravo, I did a general search on the subject and this thread came up. After I posted I realized it was in the old Majors section and not Spirit specific. God forbid...
