I did mine over the phone. It was one overview phone call that lasted about 15 minutes to prepare for the actual session. The actual session lasted 3 hours. I'm not sure if Aerocrew still manages the interviews for Spirit or not, but at the time, they did so they had the most information and the prep was spot on for what was asked on the interview. Hope this helps.

Just curious, how does: 3200TT, 2200 Jet, 200 TPIC, 1 internal rec. compare to others getting calls for interviews? I understand I'm on the "low side" for flight time, but just wondering the threshold to reach before possibly hearing my phone ring. Thanks

Just did my phone interview with Suzanne today. Very nice gal. Very laid back talk. Why spirit? What do you know of our business model and have you seen our ads? That's it. Offered November 11 interview. My stats are :
6900 TT 2000 jet pic. No job fair..1 internal rec and he's only been there 6 months. I have a question for guys who say upgrade will be 5 years for me...with attrition and fleet doubling in 5 years there's no way I'll upgrade in 3 or 4??? Just wondering cause I'm a 9 year CA at my regional and kinda nervous about leaving if I'm gonna sit right seat for 5+ years unless new TA has JetBlue style FO pay rates. I have no desire for JetBlue I wanna be at spirit just a little gun shy at this point.

We are close to 1400 pilots and are essentially half way for the planned growth through 2021. Upgrades are going to guys with numbers in the low 700s and there are still many bypasses senior to those 700s, waiting.
So if you were pilot 1400, you need another 700 to upgrade to see an upgrade, that's a doubling of our fleet which is in late 2021. Retirements are few and attrition from the CA ranks is few as well.
Soon enough guys hired in 2016 won't see an upgrade at all unless more growth is slated with new orders.
News may suck, but it's important for people to realize that there isn't going to be a 2.5 year upgrade for guys hired today or within the last year unless more planes are a coming.

Wow thanks so much for that. It does make perfect sense. I guess I could just hope for a great TA with continued awesome work rules that would make Spirit a viable option while waiting over 5 years for upgrade or keeping fingers crossed for more airplanes. Either way thanks for taking the time to spell that out for us.
With the current fleet plan, current staffing model, retirements and light attrition, pilots hired now will upgrade in 2021. So a little over 5 years.

Considering the recent update, is spirit still a top choice? Don't get me wrong, I would still like to work there. The draw to Spirit was always the quick upgrade though. It seems like JB now has a quicker upgrade.
