Ha, I realize that. But that does nothing with directly following up with Spirit. Anyhow, I'm just saying there is no way to directly follow up with them.

Curious, but how does one directly follow up with United or Delta? Don't think they do. The company can't have people calling every day to "check their status".

I've said this before, and with all sincerity, if you attend multiple job fairs and have a few internals and you haven't heard anything, it may not be the right fit.

If I went on 3 dates with a girl, and she had my contact info and I didn't have hers; and I asked someone "Hey, how do I contact this girl who has my info but she won't call but I want to follow up," they would tell me "Dude, she isn't into you. If she was, she would call you OR would have given you her number herself".

This is not directed specifically at you but for some reason people think that if they attend a job fair and get a long app, they are good to go. This isn't the case, especially now when it appears they are sending out more long apps than before.

There isn't a "secret handshake" or magic formula for getting hired at Spirit. It's making a specific impression at a job fair or strong internals pulling for you; perhaps a bit of both.

Many will play, few will win. Maybe not the words people want to hear, but that's the facts of it. I was lucky and I'm every happy about that. Others were lucky at other airlines before me.

I've never said that I think I'm in since I received the long app. Nor am I really giving a damn that I've not called anymore. But, when there are only so many airlines out there worth working for, it's nice to keep up with what's going on in terms of the hiring. I'm not sure what I've said on this thread to get the smart replies, but I wish you guys the best of luck with your careers at spirit, because they sure did pick the best with you all.

I was asking the follow up question because the guy said you could. I know damn well they don't have time to answer ever follow up email. Jump on the guy saying you could, not the one asking the question of how with the answer of you can that I was given.

Appreciate the encouragement, just only so much one can do in the persistent department when they aren't qualified to attend a job fair anymore and don't have any internal recommendations. To many people out there that have the bonus points. Have about decided I'd be much happier putting my dive instructor and offshore fishing experience to use!!!

Haha, unfortunately I live in a land locked state, but am in and out of PBI once a month or so and always get out for a few days of fishing. I might have to post an invite to any willing line pilots to join me on the boat for a few cast and a few brews!!! Good thinking!!!

AC, guess I misunderstood. Spirits webpage and job posting is only listing 4,000/1,000. Guess it needs updated. Anyhow, I only have 475tpic, so sol regardless!!!

So in this thread you gripe about not having the 500 PIC requirement to attend Spirits future job fairs but in the "advice please" thread you claim to have right at 1,000 turbine PIC. Which one is it? Do you honestly think this lack of honest transparency helps or hurts you as a candidate?
