After getting the invite i emailed the recruiter and was like umm what's the catch? And they said just show up it costs nothing bring a resume. I was skeptical on this pilots wanting to meet pilots for free nonsense because it made so much sense. I didn't even have to pay for a lottery ticket to stand in line for hours and act like i want to support somthing I don't support. Great move by Spirit to do these events, hope other airlines follow suit and get back to the pilots wanting to hire pilots thing again. About 25 to 30 guys showed up even some that were not invited AND in uniform.

Delta started this trend last year, and United is following suit. (They had a free Veterans-only event last November.) I believe Delta said they're no longer planning on attending OBAP, WAI or any of the other alphabet-soup organizations out there...

Nice to see this trend growing.

All you guys trying to get on here, be very wary. Another week of absolutely nothing in negotiations. The company keeps offering the same crap over and over. They want to get discount pilot labor because they are cheap. Everything they do is cheap. Just look at outsourcing almost all of the ground positions to where they have no accountability. I have always hoped for the best, but my optimism is slipping away. They are poisoning this place one group at a time.

AS JCBA will be through arbitration now. It's for the 3 sections that were open scope, retirement, pay. Hearings wrap up around early September, possible exchanges of written briefs, and ~30 day arbitration decision window. The final result will be out anywhere between Oct 11-early November.

Oh. The Alaska / Virgin tie-up. Great news. They signe something soon, our ask goes up. Then I hope JetBlue signs in industry-leading 320 contract. Our ask goes up.

You'll never get those rates here. It's ultra discount airline. You want those rates, I'd suggest going to work for those airlines. We will always be low tier/discount rates at Spirit. Allegiant pay scale is the best we will hope to get. Not trying to be a downer. It's just the truth. I made the choice to come here knowing this. I have no hopes or expectations of great pay here and I'll never upgrade here. But I'm only here until I can get on at a real airline.

The age old adage: You can "ask" in one hand and sh*t in the other and see which gets filled up first
