Just like gonyon spouting about how the NC will do everything according to their own desires. When, in fact, they said at least a dozen times in yesterday's call that the results of the survey will direct their steps going forward. If they wanted to sell this turd of a 'TA' and get their money for themselves at the top-end they could have easily done so.

I'm with the above poster who says to let them work. If you don't like something, talk to your reps. Include the NC as a cc on your email.

If you really feel it's necessarily, then vote to replace your reps. How about we start with James?
I did read the proposal. At DOS pay rates top out at 15, at DOS+1 pay tops out at 15, at DOS+2 pay tops out at year 14. Not until DOS+3 do the pay rates top out at 13 years. So, I ask again, did the company offer 13/10 for top of pay scale, or did the nc misspeak, or did they not elaborate enough. Details and accuracy are important. You can say the company's pay proposal was higher than JB rates, but if you leave out the small detail of when they're higher and who is actually getting higher than JB rates you can be mislead into thinking something different. Heck, in that case, you could make the argument that we're getting better than UPS rates, because on DOS our year 1 guys are getting .50 more an hour. Actually, now that I think about it, it really doesn't matter does it?

If you guys are concerned, just send an email to your Reps, MEC & N/C. I did and got a very respectful and detailed reply from all of them.

I'm pretty happy and am am going to take a break from APC until at least tomorrow .

So let me see if i got this straight. You became concerned after hearing a live brief on the conference call so sent emails to everyone. 4 to possible 6 emails. In 24 hours they all responded and erased all your concerns?

You now advise us to do the same so our concerns will also be erased and can get off APC?

Erased my concerns? No, addressed them? Yes. The point was they are accessible and willing to answer/address my concerns on a one on one basis. That's it. No need to read into it.

Your defense misses two things. One, this NC DOES have a history and that FAILURE. Two, the reason fhey lied about section six was because they THEY told us that section six was bad as they tried to work their interest based "focused" technique. They used the spectre of "Section SIX" ( say that in your best deep booming movie narrarator voice please) to scare us into accepting their "focused" tactic. "Focused" didn't work, scare tactic did. Hey, they did succed at something.

I don't know that I see anywhere in my post a defense of the NC's tactics. I like to consider myself informed on the process and thought I could clear up the process a little. A handful of posters here obviously have an axe to grind and will post anything to take shots at the NC or the union leadership. I don't think there was subterfuge as related to the Section 6 references. However I do think the NC did shovel some garbage our way dodging the question of how we were so close to a deal, with the miserable rates of pay that the company offered. They are going to have to answer that at some point.

The rationale for the course of events seemed pretty straightforward to me on the conference call. I don't remember reading here or hearing online anyone upset that they might get us a deal quicker rather than later.

What? I must have missed some emails or pub events because I don't remember ever being scared into accepting a strategy. Did that go out to a pilot vote that I missed?

It might trouble you to realize there are pilots in this group that are actually informed and don't have a personal axe to grind. They just might not agree with you. But if it gives you solace to think I'm part of a 'cabal' (lol), not the case, but so be it.

The NC does have history to overcome. I have issues with the way the last contract was sorted out; I distinctly remember the zero-sum-game speech and we're in no-man's-land, etc. at the roadshows. However that last contract was approved by a wide margin. Uninformed members and apathy in the group will be far more difficult to overcome than the few on here that disagree with you. Most of this group will vote yes on a TA as long as a pay raise is in it.

Again, your reps have ALL the power. They set the bar and direction negotiations will go. The survey helps them figure out where that bar should be. Light up their phones with your issues or replace them.
