This has been a major problem of this industry for some time now. It's amazing the lack of awareness/ indifference to this most have. It's mostly the old 19's here at spirit, but Boeing has a problem as well. Hey, I mean it's only our health. The solution is not complicated.

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is the grievance and JS's threat to them?

Exactly

I will say the Cheif pilots bullet points from RR did say to use O2 and com if you smell fumes. No mention that smelling mildew or dirty socks is a fume.

The grievance is in regard to the use of the ground (non seniority) instructors now all the way up to FTD1.

Pure hearsay but some pretty strong threats were made to drop the grievance. I'd say verify with your rep. My guess is that management knows they won't win in arbitration.

This grievance is quite a big deal in regards to staffing and even how it affects your monthly bid seniority even if you aren't in the training department.

Now more than ever we need to be holding them to every word in the contract.
