What you think you deserve only matters in two instances: contract surveys and yes/no to ratify the TA that is negotiated for you. The pilot group will ultimately decide what we collectively deserve and will work for. We all want more, and the majority are willing to exercise the legal control we have to get there.

Outrage and going to work angry doesn't do anything but shorten your life.

Who cares what Jerry Sandman thinks about closing ACY? He doesn't have that authority. This place is run by sales and marketing, and if they didn't think we needed an ACY base, it would be long gone.

Psychopath, no. Someone who gives a damn, maybe a little too much for Spirit, yes. I'm convinced that the ONLY reason anything constructive happens around here is because of pilots who care to get the job done.

There's also a point at which the morale of the pilot group is so low that it collectively doesn't care enough to carry the burden anymore.

Dragged-out negotiations, low pay, operational clusters becoming ops normal. Stressed-out pilots...I think that point is rapidly approaching or is already upon us, and it is going to be a very rude awakening no matter how many cake and ice cream swag parties they throw in the crew rooms.

I just control what I can, and then punch out of here back into the real world and try to leave it behind.

Your talents will be much more useful at someplace like Delta, where you are encouraged and rewarded for caring. Good luck.

 

As much as I agree with your post. Where were you during your pinnacle years?! I was the only one UNRATED N1 during my time there and was singled out by the over achievers/Management there.
