Glad the union is gonna hold firm. However I suspect very few niceties from the company in return. Expect more NOIs. Forget them honoring requests for training dates and or relief line requests. Just hope long term morale doesn't turn combative. I like working here just, Don't want to see it become a militant place to work. Don't wanna see Jeff Carlson type of tone from management. Food for thought .

Bigger picture: industry consolidation continues and we now see how rapidly things can change. Spirit will not survive as a stand-alone carrier in the long-term, with the present fleet plan. I think that Spirit will look for a dance partner in the near term, before the music stops.

Hmmmm. Any reason for the 3% pop in after hours trading?

What makes you think the "joker" is no longer in charge?

Well, I could tell by the tone of things that he isn't in charge. Matter of fact, he wasn't thanked and he was tasked with cleaning up his mess of trying to get the company to cough up our quid.
I highly doubt he is well liked by any of the new guys.

Skybolt is making the point that the "joker" is still an LEC rep, therefore, still has a vote. As you know, the MEC Chair helps provide the direction, but the LEC reps are the one who run the show.
That being said, im glad the new MEC chair is showing us a direction of 100% contract compliance, no waivers, and the contract being the top priority of the MEC at this time.
James would be a great "peace time" MEC Chairman/Rep, but these times call for a war time Chair/LEC. Time to show the arrows and not the olive branch of our flag
