Spirit of NKS, Part II

Again with the veiled threats. Problem is, you are working under the assumption that anyone cares what you think of them. No one does.

By running with the big dogs you mean stepping on others trying to accomplish a goal? Do you mean looking out for only yourself? Or perhaps you mean being scared of your shadow and never sticking my head out of the hole you dug. Well great. I'm not willing to run with this group. Yes, guys jr to me probably will make more money this month because they followed your **** poor example.
And yes, you succeed in showing the world how big dogs run from hard efforts. Guess this makes me a small dog. I'll live with my pride in place.
One day this will come to an end and I'll be proud of my efforts. All those that step on us, you may think no one knows. And you kind of got away with it. But you and I both know your fellow pilots don't respect you.

The argument hasn't been about weather a handful of pilots refusing extra work would be enough to bring management to the table.
It has always been clear this will take leadership from the union in order to succeed.
We need a robust and effective leadership that truest stands up for its membership. Instead we seem to have a club that is hopeful they can magically improve QOL and pay.
Of course we all know how well hoping for change has worked in the history between labor and management.
I believe if we had an effective group of leaders we could have moved management to the table in a matter of months. How?
By doing a few symbolic things, like billboards and full page newspaper ads in the south Florida papers, it would have sent management a clear message we are serious and not afraid. Secondly it would have fostered a feeling of camaraderie and esprit de corps. Third, this feeling of Union and common cause would have kept the leaches from picking up open time.
They would have know people are copying the availability list, and seen who picked up over time. And no one would have to do a thing because every would know their brothers were watching.
As it is, there was no official leadership and we found ourselves improvising and hoping everyone got the message. We had people running for the hills because arm chair lawyers on the internet told them they might get a letter from someone someday.
Anyway, in the end it fizzled out and we didn't harm anything despite what some would want you to believe.
Next time we will be better lead, I hope.

Are you even off probation yet? It would be awesome if you were a probationary union member (no protection) and still banging that drum of "illegal job actions."
Not to mention the displeasure you have with the SPA MEC...how rich would it be if you weren't even paying dues yet....
Oh please....can it be true

Serious question....

I still don't get the animosity. I've only ever called out guys who are more interested in themselves than the group.
Maybe you don't like being held accountable. I know it's novel to some generations. Perhaps this is why you reflexively lash out. And finally, I am actually very pro Union. Maybe even this one. I just don't see any reason to think they are doing a very good job.
Enough of the explanations. I stand by what I've said. We are a group of motivated guys looking for leadership and we've been subverted by a hand full of management lackeys.

I'm the hostel one?
You aren't even original with your put downs, let alone your "let's make a list" mentality. This isn't my first rodeo with airline negotiations, I've seen your type of crusade before, it's divisive, and counter productive. You may not think it, but trust me, instead of working on the contract and productive issues the union has to put out these small matters.

I've been sued and it's not so bad. There will be no rewards if we are unwilling to accept unpleasant consequences. Don't worry, you can continue to play it safe while a growing percentage of us are willing to operate outside the constraints of law and civility and do what's necessary. I find it disconcerting that you continue to try to instill fear and dread among this pilot group with horrific tales of assessments, job action accusations, lawsuits, and wrath from some arbitrator. Are you really scared of these things? I only ask because I have not met ANYBODY out there in the system that is worried about these unlikely consequences actually happening. Just curious, Do you really fly airplanes for a living or do you work inside a building somewhere?

He fact of the matter is you can do what ever you want within the cba. As long as it's not a coordinated organized effort there is no grounds for a lawsuit.
