Sorry fellas, off topic. I'm looking at FLL base and moving the fam south. I don't want to live in lauderdale, we are looking around Cape Coral And Naples. Looks as tho cape is more bang for your buck. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Try driving to work a few times before you make a decision. You're going to get heartily sick of alligator alley. Don't let slightly cheaper housing be your ONLY reason for choosing the west coast. Just my 2 cents, YMMV

It's okay. Outcomes matter but so does the process. We can continue to pressure our leadership knowing we are not part of the problem.
As far as list go, I know why you don't like them. Honestly I don't know what to do with the info. But it's out there now. And perhaps if there ever is a strike vote those guys would get a little special tracking. Not sure. I'm spit balling here.
Oh. And the company that liked bad publicity is gone. The new Spirit is hypersensitive to needless bad publicity. It's one of the new guys big pushes.

I feel like I got screwed too. And this time by a handful of my fellow pilots too. I can't say I'm not disappointed.

As for the new guy, I didn't know he had any big pushes... outside the executive washroom.

Any suggestions on the Atlantic side? I can see alligator alley being a pain in the arse!

There's a lot of areas to avoid, pretty much anything that has "Lauderdale" in the name and not "Fort" with it.
Jupiter/Tequista, while being Up South is much more reasonable. I don't know about schools or anything else about it, some will have much more information than I, but it is a nice area.

Miami Lakes has a surprisingly good one, and is very family friendly. Parks EVERYwhere. Good schools and living in Boca. Coral Springs has an extremely family-friendly atmosphere, as does Weston, but you'll definitely need two cars to make it work.
Lots of guys live further north, up in Port St. Lucie and Jupiter; haven't heard any complaints from them. But it's a hike. And a half.
DelRay Beach was rated one of the best communities to live in as well by one of the major magazines. It has a great downtown "Main Street" that I'd like to check out again.
Expect to spend north of $300k to find a reasonable house or townhome in a good area. $400k opens up a lot of options that frankly would cost a lot less just about anywhere else, but you wear flip flops in February, so that helps take the sting out of it.

I made the move from Fort Lauderdale to the west coast. Its about an hour and 45 minute drive for me. Totally worth it. The family is much happier, and the place we bought for 200k on the water here would easily be 600k+ in FLL. Estero, Cape Coral, and Ft. Myers are all good. Been on the west coast and driving for just over a year. I make the drive 4 times a month. Its worth it.
