Spirit of NKS, Part II

You both need to think a little bit harder about how the "Standing Available" list functions and how you can make money from being on it..

what are you talking about? A work stoppage is a strike, the fact that the only real way to get management to eagerly pursue a new contract is the threat of being released for to self help. Making that statement or believing it is not illegal. Everything else we do, from berating guys for picking up open time, to not calling for paperwork, to any of the other things we think will bring management to a serious discussion at the table amounts to a hill of beans. Money is all that matters, if the money is at risk, management gets worried. If the money keeps flowing, then why change anything? Here's a definition i pulled up on the google: Strike action, also called labor strike, labour strike, on strike, greve (of french: Grève), or simply strike, is a work stoppage caused by the mass refusal of employees to work. A strike usually takes place in response to employee grievances.

I think theres a lot to this. I bet that's what management is waiting for, a purchase of frontier and then working a contract that'll be just a little more than we get now, but will make the frontier guys giddy with a big pay raise.

The generation is bigger than one company so even if a lcc does stand up for itself there are others willing to fill their shoes.

Airline industry's Mgmt biggest coup over labor via the contract airlines growth of the 90s and 2000s has been the creation of a generation of pilots all willing to fly Airbi (or 737s) for appreciably less money than the legacies because "it's better than that regional" job they used to have.

You are an idiot, you fly for LUV? Didn't you all start by undercutting majors? Then over time you worked your way up to a nice contract. But hey, Train like you fly, fly like you train!
