We can only aspire to wear a double breasted suit! Seriously he will probably come back and say I am jealous, but my penis is adequate and I have friends outside of my intermediate family and people I pick up bar tabs for. So I would never fit in.

I think I should get paid more, but let me ask you, if a legacy won't hire me and I wanted out of my corporate gig, what am I supposed to do? Tell that company that offered me a job to stick it because they don't pay legacy wages. I don't have a college degree, although I'm close. I have a black mark on my record and interviewed at one legacy carrier before their merger (a legacy carrier who paid pretty poorly I might add), didn't get the job. So now, because I'm trying to do better for my family, I'm a scumbag because I took a job at a ulcc? Again I think we should get paid more, but you keep acting like I'm some sort of scab for accepting a job at a ulcc. If delta, United or American called for a class date, I'd sure take it, but right now I've got a mortgage, electric bills and the kids gotta eat, so I've got to hold down a job at a ulcc that you act like it's taking money out of your pocket. Take your holier than thou attitude elsewhere, I get enough of that in church.
Don't waste your time with that guy, who cares what he thinks

Airline industry's Mgmt biggest coup over labor via the contract airlines growth of the 90s and 2000s has been the creation of a generation of pilots all willing to fly Airbi (or 737s) for appreciably less money than the legacies because "it's better than that regional" job they used to have.
The generation is bigger than one company so even if a lcc does stand up for itself there are others willing to fill their shoes.

First mainline pilots don't like regional pilots to "take their flying"... Now that we left the regional and go to an ULCC, they don't like that either? There's limited slots at mainline, and many more pilots. Perhaps you can tell us what we should all do? Wasn't US Air and United making less than spirit not long ago? I want a great contract just like everyone else, I'm doing my part of not picking up straight pay and not answering my phone on my days off.

I agree, like Rainbows, that NK will hold off any contract with the requisite "leaks" of progress whenever the schedule gets a little tight, then eventually, a merger, industry catastrophe, etc will defer attention.
I was agreeing with Rainbow in that the quid will be cashed in during a JCBA which will bring (say Frontier) up to NK's level plus just a bit more, but so many Frontier pilots will be happy with the bigger raises that it will pass by 50.8% while everyone claims to have voted against it and again mgmt will have set the bar for ULCC compensation for the better part of the next decade.
Mgmt is winning ultimately, be it regional, ULCC, Major, and Legacy in resetting salary expectations.
It's like when the stock market gives up 50% on Monday, it needs a %100 gain to get back to even.
I get that pilots have to do what they have to do. If I were looking to feed my family and survive, I'd look to a ULCC from a regional as well. It really can't be an individual pilot that makes the difference, it has to be the unions continually pushing for a standard that defines the "profession".
If I could meet NK's mgmt on a dark street, I'd do everything I could to make sure they didn't leave until they agreed to Legacy airbus pay and work rules + 5% so that the pilots can share a little in single type savings. Unfortunately to all mgmts, labor is an expense, and pilots are an expensive form of labor. For every bit they save from us, they can use to line their own pockets.

F9s pay is slightly lower than ours. I'm pretty sure they feel the same way we do and they would require a significant raise before agreeing to a T/A. And any merger would need a joint contract before managements precious "synergies" could be realized...........
My problem is I'd prefer a merger happen now, or 5 years from now. The thought of getting close to a TA only to merge would be pretty miserable. If you think morale is low now......., lol
