I think captain upgrade on 190 at AA is around 1 year.
And the 717 at Delta about the same.

Remember gents... All of us on here that seem to have common sense are only a small portion of the group...I certainly hope Captains are taking a stance as to how they run they're aircraft and they're first officers. My airplane is always nice and cool and always has two engines running for operational nessecity... My phone goes off from scheduling the minute my pairing ends regardless of how much incentives they're throwing at us...your only utilizing a temporary solution to a long term problem by helping them clean up they're own stupidity and lack of planning. I am beyond disappointed and discusted at our new Chairmens answers to the press. He bassicly stated in a public forum that he doesn't give a rats a$$ about us. Surprise surprise...can't get away from this place fast enough...

Why would they pay us more or change things when this airline is making so much money? The only thing that will bring the company to the table in good faith is a dip in profits and only one way that's going to happen. I know I sound like I'm beating the dog out in the sun, but everything else don't matter.
I don't think the market has the same view of the operation as we do. We know what really happens on the line and how dysfunctional this place is. Eventually this will be reflected in the stock price and the bottom line. We are the most hated airline and that will only continue as our reliability and on time performance suffers. Industry leading profit margins and industry lagging pilot compensation! What a deal!

How is the ORD CP on the captain's seniority list??? He's not even senior enough to be a captain.

1.) If the position has a "captain" requirement, there's a red flag.

2.) If the position doesn't require one to be captain, is he being paid a management salary on a "captain" scale when he should be paid on a "fo" scale?

I've heard he's one of Jyri's check airman buddies from Eagle.

Looks like someone is getting a sweet deal here.

Neither is the DFW CP. The FARs and most likely the ops specs. Too lazy to check require "usually" the occupants of said position to be rated as a captain. Big difference than having to hold captain to take the job. However, at most airlines CP position have there own pay scale outside of the CBA. Furthermore, if he was able to negotiate a good deal for himself, good on ya. I don't envy his job and would never do it. So what difference does it make? For the record, I'm an ORD pilot, he seems to be doing a fine job to me.

Oh and nice first post - troll!

Base chief pilots are not a 119 required position. There's no regulatory basis for the position, nothing in opspecs. RR holds the only 119 chief pilot slot.
