Spirit of NKS, Part II

I am former republic, I have seen assessments before, I hate them. We pay dues, learn to budget money properly, or better yet ALPA national provide assistance for a merger. Why should somebody making $72hr pay the same as a $185hr captain? Second year guys have an extra half hour taken out of their check on top of dues while the senior guys have 10 minutes taken out. Is that the right or fair?
ALPA policy doesnt allow for ALPA funds to be used to merger expenses outside of normal MEC expenses. You would be the first to complain if your "dues dollars" were being spent to pay for a $5 million dollar law firm for Delta pilots to merger with Northwest. I do not want ALPA dues to be spent on an individual pilot group's desire to hire outside counsel. If a pilot group wishes to have legal representation versus pilot volunteers, they should have to front the costs.
Pay your $30 and just be quiet. You were Teamsters before so your understanding of a union that doesnt specialize in trucking is probably a new thing for you. I dont really care if you dont like to pay your $30, you're going to pay it anyways.

Why can't ALPA provide their own lawyers for us to utilize? What does ALPA do? Why not go in house then if you don't want your Union to represent you? How many lawyers does ALPA have on the payroll. Teamsters had an airline division so it wasn't 100% trucking once again facts are a terrible thing to waste.

We need to ensure that everyone is bidding a conflict lol. We need the monthly transition to get so bad, that these lower tier managers finally sit at the Table with the intention of negotiating a rock solid contract.
Until then, let the chaos ensue

Saying Teamsters has a "airline division" and acting proud of that is like saying McDonalds is a healthy place to eat because they offer salad.
Lets say that ALPA allowed their lawyers to represent airlines in a merger. So Airline A gets lawyer Bob and Airline B gets lawyer Tom. The merger goes to arbitration and Airline A does much better than Airline B when the arbitrator makes his decision. Airline B blames lawyer Tom and now Airline B refuses to integrate lists and then seeks to leave ALPA and form an in house. "Tom screwed us!!" yells every pilot on Airline B....."ALPA knew Tom wasnt as good as Lawyer Bob!!! We were set up"
Are you seriously asking what ALPA does? If that is a serious question, get off these forums and educate yourself.

Where's the 'mic drop' emoticon?
Take2 could always go back to a Teamster's airline if he enjoys their representation so much. Or stick around here and educate himself.

As explained we cannot use dues for merger council if we merge with another Alpa group. Alpa represents both parties and Alpa merger policy is laid out. We must follow that policy and if we wish to fund outside council to advocate our side and protect us during a merger we must find it on our own.
If frontier would have not voted in Alpa we could have used dues. If we merge with allegiant or southwest or American we can use dues

If two ALPA carriers merge, they have to agree on integration or it goes to an arbitrator. 99.9% of the time it goes to arbitration. An arbitrator isn't influenced by fancy lawyers, you state facts and they create the law. Ask republic how their last merger went with frontier Midwest and Lynx? That's with fancy lawyers representing us, I am not a teamster fan, I was just point out facts, something this forum doesn't like to acknowledge.
Can our MEC not outline career expectations? There are only a few people in the US that can arbitrate integrations, you don't think they have heard it all? I have been through a merger, have you?
