Can our MEC not outline career expectations? There are only a few people in the US that can arbitrate integrations, you don't think they have heard it all? I have been through a merger, have you?

You cant be this clueless...you seriously cant.

An arbitrator is a judge. Are you seriously taking the extremely misguided position that a judge's opinion can not be swayed by the argument made by a lawyer?

Maybe Republic got spanked in their merger because you had cruddy lawyers; but that doesn't make sense to you because all lawyers are equal in your mind an unable to present a compelling argument to a arbitrator (judge).

You are a new FO here and looking at a 4-5 year upgrade at least anyways. Pay your $30 and maybe you will still see the left seat if we merger in the next 4-5 years. Cant believe you don't realize that you may be in the right seat for a LONG time if a merger goes bad and odds are, we will merger before you upgrade in 2020.

....wait....you dont think its 2.5 year upgrade or a 3 year for you...do you..please tell me Jyri didn't sell you on that.

I've schooled you enough today. Pay your $30 and be quiet, you don't like it, i'm sure Republic is hiring. God I love the fact you have zero say in the assessment being taken out of your check and I hope you get angry every time you see that $30 being taken out, furiously angry

Ok internet tough guy, I'll make this quick so your mom can use the computer in the living room.

That is a link to the Arbitrator who was in charge of the Republic, Midwest, Frontier, Lynx merger. If you look closely he is a lawyer, not a judge. Making $2,800 a day, we should have been lawyers. Semantics because he is kind of like a judge in the since he makes a ruling and we have to obey it.

Next we will look at the Lawyer we will hire for a merger probably Bill Wilder because he is "the best of the best,". We may use somebody else but they will have the same promise of providing same outcome as somebody else. Do we to spend thousands of dollars an hour to present our case or can we do this with our elected professionals.

http://www3.alpa.org/LinkClick.aspx?...%3D&tabid=3345

That is a link to the ALPA-ALPA merger policy, it basically states figure it out on your own, if not go to arbitration. One side will always feel it is getting screwed so it will go to arbitration. Again our lawyer will bring up the same facts as their lawyer and the LAWYER/Arbitrator will come down with a decision. Shouldn't ALPA provide guidance for a ALPA ALPA merger rather than wash their hands of the people they are supposed to protect?

What if we don't merge? Where does the money go? Back to the pilots? Back to the quid pro quo fund? Disappears completely? Maybe they have said and I don't remember, but I don't blindly follow the sheep to the wolves den.

Just pay the $30 over the specific time period. If it's not used, you get it back at some point. It's an insurance policy. Also dues % wise a captain pays more than an FO. It just so happens in this case you're paying a greater % of hourly rate. Literally bring your lunch on a 4 day. Or have 1.5 bottles less of rum (insert booze or your choice) a month.

No, it's a one time fee. It's just applied 14 times.

hey, so I went online to the Spirit website and created a profile to apply for FO position... did the Parse resume and uploaded one as well. I didn't see anywhere in the app though to fill out my flight times and type rating/FAA certificate info. Did I miss something? I did the online assessment and that's the last thing I was able to do. Any help is appreciated.

The union hit gold with that "lower tier" comment and the press release was a great first step. I would like to see lanyards, stickers, id cards that say "Despite what my CEO thinks, I am not a 'lower tier pilot'" or "I work for a lower tier CEO"

I wonder if this new CEO also has a "low tier pay", since he is working for a low tier airline or he has a standard pay!!!

Spirit pilots are held to the same standards and procedures as other pilots in other airlines do, and they perform the same duties, and they are not less qualified than others. Also, they are not doing less work, or do it differently than others. Calling them "low tier" is really degrading!

I would say Juice can be considered an authority on the subject of pilot seniority integrations.
