Spirit of NKS, Part II
#9761
"From last Friday's Flight Ops Update.
New hires and leave returns 2016 - 550
New hires planned for 2017 - 1106
New hires planned for 2018 - 1236
Number of new Captains - 450 (unsure of the timeline didn't say)
Number of aircraft we plan to have in 2017 - 767 (vs 739 planned in 2016)
Oh course the standard subject to change caveat."
So basically United can hire almost our entire pilot group in one year. That doesnt include the other big 3. Anyone going to recurrent and ask the great Bendo how they are going to compete with that?

The DOJ is giving Alaska/VA a hard time, there's no way they'll allow one of the big 4 to buy us.
....on second thought....we're hated so much by the flying public that there may not be too much of an argument if we went away.

sure it does, cuts competition, "fit fleet" of airbuses + airbus orders and fairly young pilot group that won't retire soon.
Guarantee spirit won't be around in 10 years. Not when 20,000 pilots are needed at legacies for retirements alone (not including any growth). And we'll never get pay raises. Fornaro will sell us for a payday, keep us cheap by not paying us, then whomever buys us will snap us to their rates eventually Airlines 101 folks

It's a fact. Why are people wet dreaming for a legacy to buy us is beyond my guess.

Not to mention the product we serve, down right embarrassing.

Not really. Our model proves people like it unfortunately. Also, UAL & AA are deferring their "low cost" tickets are shtever or was called to battle ULCCs
Let's just stop "hoping" and "wishing" a legacy buy us and act accordingly to get the appropriate contract
