Spirit of NKS, Part II
#8761
Does anyone know what the results of the negotiating committee surely were? How can anyone say they are 100% behind the negotiating committee when no one here but the MEC members know what they are actually asking for. Yes I've been to the unity events, heard the updates from the NC itself, but I still feel as lost in this process as ever.
I'm patient, this is not my first negotiations process in the 121 world. This will undoubtedly be a long bargaining session, but I keep getting the feeling we are just "winging" it. The Southwest pilot group achieved their TA with transparency. Until we see a little of that all of you are guessing. Those of us that signed the petition are doing exactly what SM has asked, getting involved with a unified voice. Remember the NC and reps work for us, and as long as I'm paying into this Union with hard earned cash, I'm going to raise a stink every now and then.

77 needs to recall JA already and quit the complaining. Then you can have one DFW rep and one LAS rep.

I agree we should be in on the ask. (Survey results after a TA). As said before, we are the only ones in this process that don't know. The NC/ mec / and company all know. The problem is, they publish the ask. Next month the ask moves down as the bargaining process moves forward and audi et al go completely ape-crap on here because our ask decreased. They try another failed recall, take up alpa resources, and fracture unity further. It seems correct to say this info black-out is to protect us from ourselves. They may be right. I don't know.

I know several pilots that signed this petition believing it would add pressure on the company. In fact, it has put our NC in an untenable position. If you signed this petition in error, you can click on the link which was included in your email. It will allow you to unsign the petition. If people are truly happy to put our negotiators in this position, keep your signature on it.
Regarding the DFW LEC financial argument, this is just one aspect of why this is a bad idea. Has DFW grown at all in the past year? (I don't keep track). Is it in danger of stagnation or shrinking? Possibly. The 3 biggest revenue generators are FLL, LAS and ORD in that order. Where will this base be in 2 years? It may be a shadow of what it is today. Take a look at the numbers in each base and tell me why this is a good idea. You are represented now, as are all the pilots in every base. Can you show the group how you aren't represented?
Another base may be opening soon. What if Audi decides that his best interests lie in the new base? Are we going to have to live through another push for representation from him?
I get that you guys want a voice. You, like me, already have one. You had a chance to vote in your reps and didn't. Why?

Unfortunately, in this case, we seem to have some individuals trying to exploit a popular argument to advance their own personal agendas.

I think the audi et al isn't as big as you think. Dfw4lec is big, but the ape crap you speak of would be rather small. Most of the Dfw4lec guys are not the boogie man you guys think we are. Most are fairly educated and passionate about the way we see right and wrong. Most understand how negotiations work and expect some changes. I want to know where we are at and want transparency.

This could be the answer, would bet JA has very little support within LEC77, somewhat of a liability given what he has done since he got elected. But is it wise to even recall at this time?

Remember, we are talking about people that refuse to use their own laptop to complete a one-time training module because the company didn't buy them said laptop. People that would go through the monkey-motion of relaying a complex message to DX via a not so pilot savvy ops agent instead of the much easier (AND SAFER) cell phone call because the company doesn't give them a company phone. BTW, my room doesn't have a tub, and where's my %^$& grab and go?
