Im currently flying turbine helicopters for a sheriffs office in florida. The job is good and has security with good benefits but things ffor me have changed. I resigned 4 years ago to fly for the regionals because it was a long time goal of mine to fly 121 and ultimatelymake it to the majors. Well, long story short, i had to return to the SO after a year and a half due to some personal family matters ( i became a single father). When i came back, i was no longer eligiblefor retirement benefits so it became a dead en for me. I'll be making 60k for the rest of my career with maybe a few cost of living raises here and there. I need to get back to the airlines and because im relatively a low time guy ( compared to other applicants), my options are slim. I have the requirements for NK but not much more. I figured i can only have a chance back at the regionals but id rather be at NK over a regional anyday of the week...i dont know if the would even give me the time of day but i figured i can take my chances. Anyway, i wanted to know about crew bases and senority. I live in florida so fll is the best option for me so id like to know how senior it is and how long it would take to hold after training. Thanks in advance!
As far as FLL, you can get it towards the end of your training. Worst case is, you may have to go to ACY for a month, before getting FLL.

The most junior bases as of now are ACY and DTW. I was hired a little over a year ago and was able to get my first choice base (DTW) two weeks after completion of OE. Others in my class that wanted FLL were able to hold it within a month.
With that being said, if you are interested in working here, it will definitely help to attend a job fair and have an internal letter of rec.
Like Ram said earlier, besides the pay, it is not a bad place to work.
I hope this helps and good luck.

IOT question. We use flica to swap or drop trips right? Just finished OE and don't see anything on flica or open time or dropping.

Call scheduling....they have to enable all of the menus on Flica for you.

That is why we will never get a new contract. People making deals and moving planes on their days off.

It would be nice to make that amount every year without making deals.

If you literally just finished you might not have been put into the system by crew train and scheduling. Do you have a schedule built yet?

Yeah I got a schedule built but they didn't setup flica yet. Planning is gone so I'm going to try to bug scheduling to do it. Need to drop this ACY stuff haha. Anyone know any lodging options in ACY?

I got this one boys.

*** is wrong with you? My last captain couldn't even afford a motor for his boat! He had to get one with sails. You're bringing the industry down. Didn't you hear Delta is hiring? Or Home Depot? Anything has to be better then this "airline."
