Then Compass is in trouble? The FAA cannot violate you if an approved chart has incorrect info.

Unless there's a NOTAM buried that you failed to catch on the arrival that you were switched to at the last minute and given a descend via. Not to mention staying alive has always been a priority of mine over not getting violated. I've heard indirectly that ASAPs have skyrocketed at Compass since making the switch. There's a reason why Fedex and nearly every other airline that has tried Lido switched back to Jepps very quickly.

They switched back because they used paper and paper is twice as bulky as jepps. The Notam page on the Lidos is a button at the top of the chart. If it's too hard to look at that...
Plus FDC NOTAMs on your release. If these charts were truly unsafe as to cause a loss of life, the FAA wouldn't certify them.

You can't POSSIBLY be clueless enough to actually believe that statement, can you?

If the FAA is certifying an unsafe product that is putting lives in jeopardy then you need to contact your congressman, the FAA, or CNN. If they are just inconvenient then keep complaining here.

And why are you so fast to defend a cheap, shi#%y product? These charts are concessionary. And the company's approach to training them is what makes them dangerous.

Read the chart fly the approach or arrival. How hard is it? I don't get it. Verify said chart with your FMS, which you are supposed to do anyway..if it's wrong request a new approach/arrival....land...pick up the phone, notify dispatch, your chief pilot, and fill out an ASAP. The chart gets fixed and you move on.

I really don't get the big deal. The fact that you need training to read a freaking approach plate is absolutely comical. Does mommy come with you on overnights too? Who tucks you in?

Here's an idea. UNABLE! How hard is that?

Bitter, party of 1. Chart reading and comprehension are not the issue. You smoothly glazed over the cheap and concessionary aspect. If TSA pilots were to stop wearing many hats and just do their 1 job, this dumpster fire would explode.
I shouldn't have to come to work and talk to MX, CS and dispatch because the logbooks are a mess, I don't have a hotel reservation and I'm carrying entirely too much fuel with alternates I don't need. But I do, we all do. Sad really. All this, and the company wants to spend less money for second rate charts. We should NEVER be placed in a position to have to 'land...pick up the phone, notify dispatch, your chief pilot, and fill out an ASAP.' The product we have has been proven to work. Lidos have not.

The fact that you still make mommy references tells me you must have not gotten enough attention from yours. Grow up.

Is that why Compass uses them as their only product and Fedex did until they got tired of carrying all that paper? NAS charts are even cheaper. Does that make them cut-rate? Who cares if the company is using cheaper plates that are FAA-certified? Delta chose the Surface Tab over the ipad for their charts because they got a better deal. Does that make it concessionary? Stop your whining and do your job. Jesus. If you don't like it, PSA and Mesa are both hiring. Go there.
