I heard the same thing from the chief pilots. If I recall correctly it went from about <~20 FOs eligible to they think 60-75. Plus there's still going to be new people hitting the 2500tt mark every month. Plus theres new hires like myself in the training pipeline and in ioe that were hired as FOs, but now meet upgrade requirements or are within a few hundred hours of mins.
Attrition is the big variable that nobody knows. And depending on how that turns out will decide if they need to hire another wave of CQs later this year and how many.
With that being said, anyone that can jump in on the CQFO bandwagon, it's probably still a good deal for people looking to leave their current regional. You'll get some PIC time, and at least $44 per hour for making the switch. And an upgrade shouldn't be too far down the road.

Oxley very clearly stated the CQFO program will be slowed down for a while because they want to reduce the number of guys on bypass and they have what we need FOR NOW . I wouldn't expect to see any more until sometime this summer, and that number will depend on how attrition is gong. If all they guys that say they are interviewing get out of here over the next 6 months, then that number will go way up.

If one of them was the IAD chief… take it with a grain of salt. There's been a bit of misinformation that has stemmed from mgmt personnel in that crew room over the past few months. Not saying everything that's said is a flat out lie, but don't take everything you hear from there and go spewing it all over the forums. Just my .02.

second, it was IAD CP and the System CP...
third it's not misinformation, that information might change but no one is making it up. Most misinformation was spread by FO's who were too naive to realize how this system works.
