More to the point, how can we advertise 12-18 month upgrades (BS), when were not upgrading these FOs that have the time and bid in? Who the hell cares about being hired as a CQFO, if they are never going to upgrade. Remember there are several CQFOs that are waiting for a full upgrade on the list. Does mgmnt think doing CQFOs will be more advantageous in recruiting than doing REAL 12-18 month upgrades?
Those were the points I was trying to make

Fair, but the question is: will we be getting many? I dont know if there are alot of people out there who will be jumping all over this again. Thats why im kinda puzzled as to why were doing this. To me I figured that time passed already. But on the other hand I guess I dont see the big picture

It's more of a tactic to fill the right seat. Supposedly we've had 6 captains put in their two weeks notice this month and a few more with CJOs places that are waiting until closer to their class date to put in their notice. If attrition goes at the pace it's going now in the coming months, there may be a situation where they've exhausted the list of FOs with captain bids in. Also, word on the street is that recruiting is going better since the announcement of the bonus. We do have a handful of planes parked, and if we are suddenly able to staff them we might need CQs to help staff them.
However, as someone who's had my upgrade bid in for about a year, I'm not super happy to see them hire CQFOs that will be making almost double what I am now while I'm awaiting upgrade. I don't think they are going to attract nearly the number that they had in the past. And the one good thing is CQFOs coming on property force the company to continue to run upgrades according to the contract.
