Alright moving on... what’s the likelihood of the 350 actually showing up?

SK email just announced "we're saving a few things for later this year that include new aircraft types... that will shake-up the industry"...

I’m guessing the 777 P&W story is over. What a mess it has been with those engines. Bring on the A350

The problem is the lead time for wide body aircraft. 2030 is probably the earliest UA will be able to get A350s. Hopefully, they will switch at least some of the orders to the -1000s. A lot of extra expense adding another fleet, but redundancy has its benefits. Great for pilots.

Would a 777X count as a new type? The Director of Training just flew the sim in Montreal.

I don’t think it’s a new type but United would fly it as one since it has significant differences.

folding wing tips
touch screen CDUs
Bleedless

just to name a few.
